Excellent vacation

5 of 5
I love Caribbean, and I think, I probably visited most of the places. Belize, Cancun, Dominican republic and etc. I usually go for 4 or 5 star all inclusive resorts, and cruises where you don't have to think about anything : food, entertainment essentially, you don't have to think of anything and this time, I decided to do something different. I wanted to try St. Thomas. Everyone is raving about St. Thomas , so I decided to give it a try and now I have to say, that was the best vacation, I ever had. Beautiful views- first of all, the island looks different, I think it has volcanic origin, so it is surrounded by green mountains and it looks amazing. The condo is right on the beach and the views are amazing. . Because the island is surrounded by other islands that act as wave breakers, there are no waves. That is why it is great for snorkeling, it has coral reefs, tons of fish that swim right around you and spotted sting ray. I stayed at Sapphire beach condo C-204 unit and the owner left two pairs of professional snorkeling equipment free to use. Since there are no waves, it is a perfect place for water paddling or kayaking. Kayak rental costs $15 per hour. The water- The water was amazing, it is so clear and warm, you can literally go into the water and stay there for 2 hours. The temperature itself is very comfortable and there is always a little breeze. When I stayed there the temperature was 84 degrees, and we had the doors to the balcony open, and we didn't even have to use air conditioner it was that comfortable. The condo itself was great, It had new kitchen it had two LCD tvs, with cable channels, including Cinemax . The kitchen comes equipped with electric oven, microwave and big fridge. It has everything you need to cook, pans, plates, cups. The food shopping is relatively nearby, but I took a taxi anyway to Food Court, it is a big store it has a better selection and great prices for liquor. Don't buy anything at the airport their prices about 30% higher. Overall, like I said it was the best lazy vacation, I ever took. The nature is so beautiful, the water, the ambiance of the place and it was not crowded at all. I loved the place, I loved the condo, and big thanks to MIchael for providing excellent service and thanks for our best vacation

A Perfect Fit for Us

5 of 5
Everything positive you have read in other reviews about this property and Rick and Susan, is true! We selected this property for our family of four, with two adult children ages 19 and 25 initially because of the advertised accommodations. Rick and Susan provided in writing detailed information about so many of the important aspects needed to help us feel secure in our decision to visit St. Thomas and to make the vacation work so well. The place is roomy enough for all to have their own space and private time after a long day at the beach or experiencing all the island has to offer. We were able to save quite a bit of money making breakfasts and lunches in the completely equipped updated, open and spacious kitchen. One bit of advice I would provide is that you get to this condo before heading to the grocery store as it really is equipped with so much of what you will need to feel like you have all the comforts of home. Having separate balconies in several locations was also a huge plus. The views were wonderful especially at night where we had an unobstructed view of the sky from the top balcony! We rented a car and were very glad that we did as it allowed us to explore the island, visit Charlotte Amalie, Mountain View for spectacular views of the island, snorkel at Cokie Beach (get there early), take the ferry to St. John's (take the earliest ferry!), dine in Red Hook and shop for food and snacks as necessary. It was great to have two restaurants on premises. Our kids opted for the more casual Sangria's one night, while we dined steps away in the upscale Caribbean Fish Market. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the ambiance and the fact that it was in walking distance. At night we watched movies from the condo's collection which included comedies and thrillers. Never heard anyone say they were bored!!! A huge plus when travelling with kids!! Lastly, the gym was under construction, but we managed to take a very nice 50 minute walk almost every day travelling two times around between our complex through the Cowpet Bay West complex and the St. Thomas Yacht Club. Thank you Rick and Susan for all of your input and helping to make this a memorable vacation for my whole family.

Perfect in Every Way!

5 of 5
I have rented many vacation homes through VRBO in many different locations and I have to say this was not only one of the nicest homes in one of the most beautiful locations, but also the best experience in terms of making arrangements with the homeowner. Richard was so organized and made everything so easy for us! The home itself is actually even nicer in person than it is in the pictures! We were a party of 5 (family of 4 plus my mother in law) and we easily had more than enough room. The kids absolutely loved the upstairs loft and private rooftop deck and I liked that all of the sleeping areas were separate from one another and they all had their own private balcony with fantastic views. The location of the condo is excellent- it is just a 4 or 5 minute drive from Red Hook with its fun restaurants and the ferry to the other islands. The kids enjoyed the Elysian Resort pool and found the staff around the pool and on-site restaurants to be extremely friendly. The grocery store was about 10 minutes from the condo. Our favorite activities on our trip were: visiting St John (Trunk Bay is spectacular and should not be missed), taking a catamaran to swim with sea turtles (we arranged through the Bolongo Bay Beach resort), shopping in Cruz Bay on St John and exploring different beaches on St Thomas(Magens Bay lived up to its reputation but we also liked Sapphire Beach and Coki for the great snorkeling). If we ever go again, we will take the time to venture to Virgin Gorda for The Baths. This was a wonderful vacation and everyone on the island was so friendly!! Thanks Richard for making your wonderful condo our home away from home!
