Paradise on a budget!

4 of 5
My family (husband, 3 year old, myself) stayed very comfortably at the Starlit Escape. We chose this place for many reasons: the price, the location (we love Coral Bay), the separate bedroom, and the pool. We needed a separate place for our daughter to sleep for naps and bedtime and this place provided a bedroom with a door. Most places in this price range are studios, and a two-bedroom was out of our budget. The pool provided entertainment for the parents for the long hours of sleep that our daughter requires and for our daughter when she woke up. It was well-equipped and clean- having everything we needed, including some toys for our little lady. The wi-fi was well-tested and worked beautifully, even while streaming. The road is tough (though my daughter loved it), but hardly a reason to avoid this place. I have been to many places in the Caribbean, and the roads on St. John are, in general, perfect. The road for the Starlit Escape is much more typical in my experience. You are not at home, you are away! Just relax and enjoy how different it is to be in the Caribbean rather than home! One tip: we had a very long day of travel with a cranky toddler and had the good sense to take Jared's offer to stock the kitchen with provisions. This was money very well spent and it kept us from foraging away from the house after 15 hours of travel. Highly recommended.

Perfect!

5 of 5
Tropical Tree house could not be nicer and a great value. It is immaculate and looks better than its picture. The porch is much larger than it looks. It is ideal for a couple and close to restaurants on Coral Bay, my favorite side of St. John. The owners are very helpful. Would definitely return.

Amazingly Wonderful Location and Villa!

5 of 5
My wife and I went to the Castle to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and couldn't have been happier. The stone work and architecture of the castle was breathtaking. Every little nook and cranny was thought through. It is a work of art in a way! Then there is the view! The trip up the long drive is worth it. Being on top of the mountain, everywhere you look is pure beauty and it's so private. We liked being on the east side of the island away from the more busy Cruz Bay area. It felt more local and there were a lot of less populated interesting beaches i.e. Francis Bay, Maho Bay, Salt Pond Bay, Drunk Bay etc. I would recommend going to the Concordia restaurant. It overlooks Salt Pond Bay. They have a great food and an open mike night on Monday :) Overall I give the Castle two thumbs and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a private getaway on the most beautiful island I have ever visited.
