The PERFECT honeymoon!

5 of 5
There truly are not enough positive ways to sum up our 10 nights at Mooncottage. From the very beginning, Brian was a tremendous help as we were researching locations to spend our honeymoon. He made sure to provide us any local "tips" we would need so that there were no surprises along the way. It's hard to trust all of the incredible review online (can Mooncottage really be THAT amazing?!) - but they are all true! The home is beautiful - pictures don't even begin to do justice to the stunning views - and the amount of space was perfect for the 2 of us. We wanted a honeymoon location where we could just relax and never feel like we were on a schedule, and Mooncottage provided the perfect accommodations for that. We spent mornings and nights just taking in all of the scenery below us, and spent our days visiting different beaches, restaurants, and bars each day. We came to embrace the (very bumpy) drive up/down the road to the house, and it's really kind of fun once you get used to it! The privacy is well worth the short extra drive -- and we loved being in Coral Bay on the less populated end of the island. We've already passed the name of the home along to a few of our friends who are looking for a special getaway -- and we can't wait to go back ourselves!

Relaxing vacation in a beautiful location!

5 of 5
We arrived late in the evening, and although we have been to the island before, this was our first time staying in the Coral Bay area. Russ met us at the driveway and guided us to the donkey corral/parking lot (this is why we love St. John!). He took us up to the cottage and showed us around, got us situated, gave us hints. He and Liz, who we didn't have the opportunity to meet as she was on the Mainland, live down the hill from the cottage so if you need anything or have an issue they are there to help. However, not intrusive in any way. The cottage itself is 2 bedrooms - one smaller one off the kitchen and then the main bedroom that leads to the deck and hot tub, bbq, loungers. Although there is a wifi hotspot below the house on a path, we were able to receive the signal at the cottage on the deck and in the smaller bedroom (had to do work :(). The kitchen has a full size fridge, gas stove, microwave, sink, 1 gallon of drinking water (so pick some up at the store), enough pots, pans, utensils, etc to make do. We had breakfasts "in" and 2 dinners so it was fine for us. There is a washer and dryer as well. And the bathroom was lovely - the shower felt outdoors without being outdoors. There are ceiling fans and a big floor fan and when we were there, we had great breezes and never felt uncomfortable. Lovely bedding and a very comfortable bed; lots of towels - beach and otherwise. We really liked the location, but it wouldn't be for everyone. A car is necessary - there is a bus stop nearby, but you would miss so much of the island without a car. Beaches were very close. But it is about 10 minutes from Coral Bay and then those "8 tuff miles" from Cruz Bay. So you need to be comfortable with driving. There are food markets in Coral Bay and along the road to Lameshur. As well great restaurants in Coral Bay. Plus Concordia is very close - great restaurant and views. We would definitely recommend if you are a hiking, snorkeling, sun loving, fairly fit, adventure type traveller! And that is why we picked St. John in the first place!!

Loved the Teahouse Treehouse!!

5 of 5
It was a long day of travel from Chicago to get to St. John and the drive from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay seemed forever on the windy roads in the dark, but as soon as we reached the property, the wait was worth it. The Teahouse Treehouse truly is heaven on earth. The view is just incredible!!! The property is amazing and although incredibly luxurious, still has a very bohemian feel about it. The bed was super comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals at home. Everything was clean and well maintained. The SPA was super to come home to after a long day in the sun. We loved staying on the Coral Bay side of St. John and enjoyed eating at Shipwreck's Landing and Pickles. We also heard great things about Miss Lucy's but didn't make it in time for dinner. We explored Salt Pond Bay and Lameshur Beach, which both weren't too far from the Teahouse Treehouse. We also loved Miss Vie's as well as the beaches on the North shore. The property manager, Bob, was super friendly and always a phone call away if we had a question about anything. There is a lot of driving to get anywhere on the island and I will say that the hill to the villa became a bit tedious, but otherwise we wouldn't have that privacy and amazing view. So, overall we had an amazing experience and stay at this 5 star property and would return as well as recommend to friends or family.
