Breathtaking in all ways possible!

5 of 5
Our family of 6 spent Christmas week at this magnificent property. Privacy, panoramic views, exceptional decor and amenities are only the beginning. Every expectation was met beyond the expected. The layout of the home is perfect for family or group gatherings, and the privacy of each bedroom was ideal. Leaving the property to set sail, dine or hit the beach was difficult because everything we wanted was at our fingertips. The views are the best you can find in the islands, The kitchen is a dream to prepare big or small meals. Outdoor dining area was awesome. The ride from the West End is short, with a few bumps on the road- but well worth the trip. Even for our mothers who are 80 years old! What a magical place! Must mention the attention received by Charles. He checked on us daily to see that we didn't want for anything. He is a very special addition to this very special property.

Beautiful views and a relaxing setting

4 of 5
Vista Del Mare is a beautiful house with stunning views of Leverick Bay, Moskito Island and Necker Island. The house is spaciously laid out and has most amenities you would need. The beds were very comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked, although we never ended up using it to cook. We spent most of our mornings lounging by the pool, watching the sailboats go by in the channel below. The pool is especially nice (if a little cool, temperature-wise) because it is nice and deep. It was actually difficult forcing ourselves to leave the view to go visit some of Virgin Gorda's great beaches! We were just one couple, but the house is set up well for two couples who want their privacy. The two bedrooms are on either end of the house, separated by the outdoor area. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom. Be warned, the roosters and chickens start serenading you around 6:30 int the morning! There is not much to do in the Leverick Bay area in terms of restaurants, although the restaurants that are there (and Jumbies Bar) are very good. If you want more food variety, it is an 18-minute ride down to Spanish Town. The ride is very hilly, steep and windy, and you'll definitely need to rent a 4WD, but the views along the way are stunning. Watch out for goats and dogs in the road, though! Also, make sure to eat at Hog Heaven on the road to Nail Bay Resort. It has one of the best views on the entire island and great ribs! I also want to heap praise on the daily maid service and very responsive administrative staff at Virgin Gorda Villa Rentals. When we needed some lightbulbs replaced and a window shade repaired, they came out immediately and addressed our issues. Very friendly and helpful! A couple of minor criticisms (they did not get in the way of our enjoyment, but did provide a minor annoyance). 1) no beach chairs are included with the rental. I would expect at this price point that there would be a few chairs to use. 2) no use of washer and dryer, which would be OK if they provided enough towels for both beach and pool use. For one couple it was OK, because we just took the towels from bedroom 2, but for two couples you may want to bring your own beach towels. 3) the floor tiling around the pool area is very slippery when wet. Be very cautious when walking around the pool. I almost fell a few times. I would not recommend this place for small children. 4) the pool gets very little sun, so it is pretty cold.

Vacation in paradise!!

5 of 5
We had been planning this vacation for some time and we were not disappointed! The views are stunning and the location is perfect!! House is comfortable and was perfect for our group of 6. From the beginning Jane, the owner, and Sam, the manager, were very helpful and made this experience so wonderful. One thing I never saw mentioned was the stereo. The house is wired for music. This was great! (We actually brought our Satellite radio and didn't need it while we were at the house.) We visited some of the other islands, did some scuba dives and snorkeling and relaxed. I would recommend renting snorkeling equipment as there are great fish to see right by the house and in the bay. Short walk down the beach to many restaurants and bars. Zip Line on Tortola was a great way to see some of the fabulous views. As recommended, we did the provisioning from Rite Way for food. Easy and reliable. We did not rent a car. Sam recommended Paul for cab arrangements. He was one of the nicest people we met on our trip. We gave him our itinerary and he was there everytime! This trip was planned for my 50th birthday. We are all in our 40's and early 50's but I would recommend this for people of all ages. Something for everyone and every age!! Absolutely perfect!!
