Beach Front Villa

5 of 5
Just returned from a wonderful vacation at The Sterling House, Long Bay Tortola. It is a beautiful private home right on Long Bay Beach. The views are truly breathtaking. The owner graciously rents out the 1st floor villa which is a beautiful 2 bedroom suite. Both bedrooms have private luxurious bathrooms and are separated by a kitchen( fridge, gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, blender, coffeemaker) and living room to ensure privacy. The whole villa is ocean front and the doors in both bedrooms and the living room are pocket doors (including pocket screens) so they disappear into the walls and you can walk freely onto the elegant covered balcony to enjoy magnificent ocean views overlooking the most beautiful, quiet, picturesque beach on the Island. If needed the bedrooms have AC and if you open the bedroom doors the kitchen/living room area will cool down also. We traveled with our 2 daughters ages 23 & 26 and wanted 3 bedrooms so the owner, offered to rent us her art studio as a third bedroom. It was perfect. It has it's own private entrance, balcony, bathroom, TV, kitchen... need I say more. Inside all the basics to start your vacation are provided for. Paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, coffee filters, dishwash etc. The owner suggested we order food online and had everything put away upon our arrival. A huge time saver. I ordered food/water/drinks/ground coffee online from Riteway and had no problems. They don't have everything they offer everyday so you will get a few substitutes but everything was fresh and I was happy with my order. Once you're here it's easy to pick up meats and perishables. You will need a car if planning to explore and pick up supplies. To get to the Villa we flew into St Thomas, taxied to the Red Hook dock, water taxied to Sopher's Hole Dock in the west end and then took a taxi to the villa. The owner provided names, websites and answers to all your questions to help ensure you have all your transportations booked ahead of time. You will never want to leave the villa, the views are that spectacular, the beach is steps away, there is a small dipping pool on the balcony with therapeutic jets and a European massage waterfall, they have a gas grill, washer and dryer, 40 inch tv,dvd player, stereo, WiFi ,beach chairs and towels, cooler, everything you could think of is waiting for you.

Stunning location, exceptional vacation for friends and family

5 of 5
Spectacular setting and beautiful, spacious home in Tortola's West End - easy to access 45 min. ferry from St. Thomas, but secluded from the busy main port of Roadtown. The friendly property manager met us at the ferry with our rental car(s) and lead us to the house to make sure we were settled in. The West End is filled with luxury villas, lovely restaurants and secluded beaches. We stayed for the week of Thanksgiving with our 3 teenage/young adult sons - all who had a memorable experience. This location is perfect for those who like to avoid the "all-inclusive resort" type vacation, and seek to experience the authentic beauty and flavor of the BVI while still feeling pampered and enjoying a luxury vacation. This beautifully appointed home served as the perfect base from which we explored the island. The house was filled with fresh flowers from the gorgeous and abundant gardens that surround the house and the sparkling pool is also lighted at night for after-dinner dips. Furnishings are fine quality, the kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and beautiful tabletop items. We spent one amazing afternoon snorkeling in the hidden-away Brewer's Bay (rent snorkel gear at Blue Water Divers at either Nanny Cay or Sopers Hole). The beach was deserted, and the fish abundant. On another day we zipped through the tree-tops over Roadtown with the Original Virgin Canopy Tour - a fantastic operation run by seasoned pros. Half the adventure is just getting to their base of operations high above Sir Francis Drake channel. Another fantastic day was spent sailing to Virgin Gorda Baths and snorkeling around the sunken Rhone ship with Aristocat Charters (out of either Sopers Hole or Roadtown). But the best part of the trip was lingering around the gorgeous pool at the Villa, enjoying the spectacular sunrise and sunsets from the generous balconies, and appreciating the incredible level of detail that went into the house. You'll find everything you need and more - nothing has been overlooked. Groceries can be bought at the convenience store near the house, or at one of the larger supermarkets on the island. You'll need a 4-wheel drive vehicle for the many hills on the island, but it's all part of the adventure. Thanksgiving dinner at The Sugar Mill on the north side was beautiful and historic; a perfect setting. Everyoneone was warm, inviting, friendly and helpful - can't overstate the quality of this experience; we'll be back!

Fantastic Family Vacation

5 of 5
The villa was very well suited for our family of 8 including 2 kids with everyone having their own bedroom and bathroom as well as plenty of space to spread out in. Jon and Rohan met us at the West End Ferry dock with our rental vehicle as well as another car for our luggage and away we went on our vacation adventure. Jon bought us roti's from D'Coalpot for our first dinner and the frig was well stocked with breakfast items for the next day which was most appreciated. The view from the open air spaces are breathtaking especially with almost daily morning rainbows! We spent our days exploring different beaches ( our favorites were Cane Garden when no cruise ships are in and Josiah Bay for boarding)and our nights gathered around the big dining with table eating Caribbean dinners prepared by our oldest son and playing dominos and cards. We would not hesitate to recommend this villa and found Jon to be very accommodating whenever we called with a question. We hope to return soon to Tortola and the Limeberry Villa
