Beautiful Property, Amazing location

5 of 5
This is a special spot, tucked in the hills of Dover but minutes away from Mt. Snow, Wilmington and Haystack golf course. The house is clean, warm, and comfortable with a beautiful view of birch trees and the green mountains. It has rustic charm with all the amenities. We enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and watching Direct TV and DVDs. The owner was helpful and responsive to all of our needs. We had a great time tubing with our three young children at the Hermitage Inn. We will definitely be back!

Lovely ski rental home exceeded all expectations

5 of 5
We spent 3 nights in this cozy, spacious, and beautifully secluded ski home. The pictures in the listing are very nice but I would say they do not do the house justice. Everything about the house was perfect for us! It is beautifully situated on the high plateau of the otherwise hilly property. The many windows/sliders offered fantastic views of the Southern Vermont mountains. Our party of 11 was very comfortably accomodated by the 3 bedrooms + 4 bunks. The kitchen was equipped with all necessary items and, then some, to cook great meals. The family room offered a nice flat screen TV and the potbelly stove kept us very warm. Our favorite feature of the house was the game room, which allowed the kids to entertain themselves while the adults did the same in relative peace in the upstairs family room. Wardsboro, VT is a small but quait village which features a great general store just minutes from the house. If more was needed, other options were a short drive from the house. Ken, the property owner, was more than gracious! He was very attentive to all of our needs, including providing nearby dining suggestions and even quickly sending a repairman out to replace the front door lockset. One word of advice: during winter months, be sure you have a 4WD vehicle. Even though the driveway is frequently plowed, it is very difficult to climb without 4WD. In short, I could not give this property a higher recommendation and most certainly plan to return.

Great warmth amidst the cold of ski season!

5 of 5
My family and I have rented dozens of beach houses; but with an important birthday over the President's Day weekend I decided to embrace winter and ski; leading us to the Vermont Family Ski Lodge. What a great decision! Although there was record snow and subzero temperatures, the minute we lit a fire in the huge stone fireplace we were cozy and warm. Well situated between 3 different ski slopes it was all we could ask for. The house was wonderful, all the amenities listed were there, and the hot tub was a special treat in the cold cold temps. The owner could not have been more helpful, giving us directions to the nearest stores, restaurant tips, and fully stocking wood for the fireplace, our favorite gathering spot after a day out in the cold. The beautiful setting amidst the Green Mountain National Forest was a natural wonder. Best birthday ever! Who knows - - maybe we'll start skipping the beach.
