Lovely ski rental home exceeded all expectations

5 of 5
We spent 3 nights in this cozy, spacious, and beautifully secluded ski home. The pictures in the listing are very nice but I would say they do not do the house justice. Everything about the house was perfect for us! It is beautifully situated on the high plateau of the otherwise hilly property. The many windows/sliders offered fantastic views of the Southern Vermont mountains. Our party of 11 was very comfortably accomodated by the 3 bedrooms + 4 bunks. The kitchen was equipped with all necessary items and, then some, to cook great meals. The family room offered a nice flat screen TV and the potbelly stove kept us very warm. Our favorite feature of the house was the game room, which allowed the kids to entertain themselves while the adults did the same in relative peace in the upstairs family room. Wardsboro, VT is a small but quait village which features a great general store just minutes from the house. If more was needed, other options were a short drive from the house. Ken, the property owner, was more than gracious! He was very attentive to all of our needs, including providing nearby dining suggestions and even quickly sending a repairman out to replace the front door lockset. One word of advice: during winter months, be sure you have a 4WD vehicle. Even though the driveway is frequently plowed, it is very difficult to climb without 4WD. In short, I could not give this property a higher recommendation and most certainly plan to return.

CCC - Cozy, Comfortable, Clean

4 of 5
We had a great stay. The home was huge and bright and had a very open floorplan feel. Fireplace was inviting and the kitchen area was huge enough for everyone to gather around. The home owners are such wonderful people and were both very helpful and accommodating. There were enough bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate everyone and the best is the mud room/foyer area for coats, boots and more. The windows were a little bit drafty and made the house a bit chilly being that we stayed on the coldest night of -38 degrees wind chill, but the hot water was never a problem with so many people. Very close drive to Mt Snow and plenty of parking in front of the house. We would definitely recommend this home to our friends/family.
