Comfortable and spacious home on gorgeous property

5 of 5
We had a wonderful week at this beautiful and charming Vermont farmhouse situated on an amazing property. The kids had a wonderful time playing in the onsite pond and spacious yard. Situated near the scenic Winhall River, there were beautiful places to walk right outside the door and lots of fun attractions nearby. The house was very comfortable for our group of four families, and the owners were very helpful and accommodating. Many people in the group have already said they want to return here for our next gathering.

Perfect Stay

5 of 5
Stayed here with small family for four weeks over Christmas 2012. Two young teenagers, two German Shepherds as well; walked every evening, hiked back into woods. No neighbors or houses visible from house. Woods stretch back forever on front and rear of house. Way beyond our expectations which were very high. The house is extremely comfortable, very well heated--the fireplace cannot be beat. Internet connection which I needed for my business was excellent. Stratton village just a couple miles to the left, Wardsboro a couple to the right. Fantastic isolated location on mountain, woods all around. We saw a Moose! Owner was best we ever rented from--checked in to be sure we had everything we needed, answered all our questions. The home was clean and very well laid out, the main room was spacious, windows all round, beautiful snow fall visible from every window. Brand new outdoor hot tub a real fun experience in a snowfall! We have stayed at many homeaway properties all over and at all times of year and this one way exceeded our every expectation. I really cannot say enough about how much fun and relaxing and enjoyable it was to stay here.

Comfy, Cozy and Close!

5 of 5
My husband and I rented this house with three other couples. We had two small children in the group. This property was great for us! The location was great and it was half the price of the other properties in Stratton that we were looking at! Although it was an older property, it was clean and well maintained which gave it a comfy lived in feel and made us feel right at home. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, plenty of towels in the bathrooms, and extra sheets for all the beds. The hot tub was outside on the back deck and that was perfect for us! We could put the baby monitors in the window and felt comfortable to relax in evening while being close enough to monitor the kids. The walk to the slopes was about 5 minutes. There is a trail between the houses and you have to cross the main road, then its just up the drive to the slope side shops and lifts. If you are a cross-country skier (like myself) you have to drive about 10 minutes to the sun bowl, but the drive was very easy and parking at the sun bowl was plentiful. It was really not an issue. The property manger, Thom, was great. He was very helpful with directions and any questions I had about the stay. Our time of arrival to the property varied as we all were arriving from different locations and Thom was very accommodating about ensuring a smooth check-in for our group. The house is located in a neighborhood where all the houses have the chalet look to them. I highly recommend a brief stroll around the neighborhood. It is a quiet, older, neighborhood with no traffic. The house is on a cul-du-sac so it is very quiet! All in all, this was the perfect house for us. It met all of our needs; it was comfortable; the location was superb; and it was an awesome value. I would highly recommend this house.
