Great warmth amidst the cold of ski season!

5 of 5
My family and I have rented dozens of beach houses; but with an important birthday over the President's Day weekend I decided to embrace winter and ski; leading us to the Vermont Family Ski Lodge. What a great decision! Although there was record snow and subzero temperatures, the minute we lit a fire in the huge stone fireplace we were cozy and warm. Well situated between 3 different ski slopes it was all we could ask for. The house was wonderful, all the amenities listed were there, and the hot tub was a special treat in the cold cold temps. The owner could not have been more helpful, giving us directions to the nearest stores, restaurant tips, and fully stocking wood for the fireplace, our favorite gathering spot after a day out in the cold. The beautiful setting amidst the Green Mountain National Forest was a natural wonder. Best birthday ever! Who knows - - maybe we'll start skipping the beach.

Great Family Getaway

5 of 5
Peter is the type of guy you want to rent from. Thorough, attentive, and friendly, he has a cozy home which he takes care of with detail. He very honestly portrays his home here and as he stated many times in our communications, he wants you to have a good time. The house is close to the Stratton access road, and has a new market and a coffee shop in walking distance. There is a spacious kitchen, and the living room has a fantastic wood burning stove with a shed full of dry wood ready for fires. For those not skiing, our party had some lovely walks on the quiet road and the house sits next to a peaceful brook with a small covered hut. Peter provided many great recommendations for the area's shops, attractions, and restaurants. And we had some unforgettable meals, especially the one at SoLo Farm & Table. Highly recommended for families and large groups.

Comfy, Cozy and Close!

5 of 5
My husband and I rented this house with three other couples. We had two small children in the group. This property was great for us! The location was great and it was half the price of the other properties in Stratton that we were looking at! Although it was an older property, it was clean and well maintained which gave it a comfy lived in feel and made us feel right at home. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, plenty of towels in the bathrooms, and extra sheets for all the beds. The hot tub was outside on the back deck and that was perfect for us! We could put the baby monitors in the window and felt comfortable to relax in evening while being close enough to monitor the kids. The walk to the slopes was about 5 minutes. There is a trail between the houses and you have to cross the main road, then its just up the drive to the slope side shops and lifts. If you are a cross-country skier (like myself) you have to drive about 10 minutes to the sun bowl, but the drive was very easy and parking at the sun bowl was plentiful. It was really not an issue. The property manger, Thom, was great. He was very helpful with directions and any questions I had about the stay. Our time of arrival to the property varied as we all were arriving from different locations and Thom was very accommodating about ensuring a smooth check-in for our group. The house is located in a neighborhood where all the houses have the chalet look to them. I highly recommend a brief stroll around the neighborhood. It is a quiet, older, neighborhood with no traffic. The house is on a cul-du-sac so it is very quiet! All in all, this was the perfect house for us. It met all of our needs; it was comfortable; the location was superb; and it was an awesome value. I would highly recommend this house.
