We spent a wonderful family weekend in Manchester while attending a wedding at Hildene. First, let me say that the house is every bit a beautiful in person as it is in the photos. The piece of property is absolutely massive and the views of the mountains are incredible. We had 9 adults and 2 children sleeping comfortably and there was bountiful space to congregate. The rear deck was the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail in the evening and the hot tub was a wonderful bonus. We enjoyed fresh coffee from the Jura Espresso machine every morning while munching on delicious bagels from Manchester Bagel works.
As nice as the house is, the location is even better. I would argue there's no better place to stay in Manchester. If Robert Todd Lincoln built his house a couple of blocks away, that's saying something. You can be downtown in less than 5 minutes. In fact, we were shopping at the Northshire bookstore and realized we left my son's stroller back at the house. I was home and back in 10 minutes. At nighttime, it's completely silent at the property. Rare to get that kind of convenience to town while still feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere.
You can't go wrong with this house. The owner, Jon, is incredibly responsive and I would rent from him again in a heartbeat.
