Peaceful stay in new/cozy cabin—great value!

5 of 5
Nice stop on a weekend stay over from northern vermont to lower new England. A lot of time and care went into this cabin and accommodation to make it a nice stay and for you to feel comfortable. Everything was new, worked, and incredibly clean—crisp sheets, nice pillows, small blankets for cool evening, nice appliances, Keuring for coffee. The location was ideal to enjoy the outdoors, golfing, local history, and resort town of Manchester without the high price. The unit is compact, so plan accordingly. Two of three beds in a loft with ladder and bathroom on the ground floor - need to be able to climb (and in the middle of the night). Everything tastefully done. The cabin and accommodation was true to the listing and could have enjoyed an outside fire and BBQ. The owner was friendly and provided a brief tour of the property - easy to find the unit with the address. Completely enjoyed golfing at the Equinox (went after 4 and got a great rate) and St. Catharines Golf and Country Club. Had a very tasting meal at Bistro Henry - wonderful service. Even bowled in Rutland at Bowlerama. Loved driving the countryside - visited Hubbardton Battlefield and would have traveled to Fort Ticonderoga if earlier in the day. Missed close by hiking - next time! Would buy groceries on the way in Manchester or Rutland if you were going to stay awhile (nothing really close).

Hidden Getaway

5 of 5
This gem is hidden on private road with beautiful view of the mountains, where you can enjoy morning breakfast on spacious wooden porch, checking your email and feel just the peace around you, kick back and relax. My entire family loved to stay here, my son enjoyed himself on hammock, actually without video games and friends. We had a lot of fun on lake with canoe, tried some fishing, enjoying camp fire. If you are looking for quiet place where you can kick back and enjoy some Vermont this is place to come and stay. We came with my parents who are in their 70s and they loved it! Easy way to get around. Even, we took this week to see almost the whole Vermont, squeeze one day in Canada, our son still enjoyed Okemo Mountain roller coaster:) I wish to stay here the whole summer, if I could:) Bring your gang and just enjoy beauty of Vermont, if they young or old , you will like it. If you work online - Internet worked great and if you little cool just heat up in the wooden stove. We did a lot of viewing on this stay, but you can stay in this house a week and do not need to go anywhere. If you have a dog, you can make sure he/she will love it!!! Our labrador loved this place so much that after we return back home he looked around and run back, jumped back in the car and did not want to go home. So If you like outdoors, and even if you do not this is fun place to stay, house is comfortable and lovely. Surrounding are like from a picture. Our whole family had a lot of fun, and yes, I would recommended this house to all ages.

Perfectly located, lovely home for weekend getaway

5 of 5
I came up here with my boyfriend for the weekend and we had a wonderful time. The house is 15 minutes away from Grafton Ponds Recreation Center where there is affordable cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and sleigh rides in a beautiful setting. 15 minutes in the other direction is Chester, where we had a great brunch at the Country Girl Diner and were able to pick up groceries at Lisai's Market to cook dinner. The house has every kitchen tool you'd need. We loved that the door on the wood stove opens so that you can watch the fire roar. Another highlight was walking on the property around the house - there are great pathways made smooth by snowmobiles for easy walking in the snow. Thank you Katharine for such a great time!
