The house and location are wonderful. Lolly couldn't have been more accommodating. We were two couples who came to Jamaica to explore a new section of Vermont and to do a bit of hiking and kayaking.
The house is spacious and could easily hold more people. We liked the way that there were bedrooms at opposite ends of the house affording total privacy.
The home was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, paper towels, spices, oil, vinegar, etc. which was great as we prepared all of our meals there.
We loved the open feeling from the kitchen to the large dining/living area.
Jamaica was fun to explore. Don't miss the Ellen Beckwith gallery. Also drove to the Vermont Country Store which is a must-do.
We drove to the dam and walked down the backside. That was interesting! We continued to the trail to Hamilton Falls. Worth the hike. The men returned the way we came. We were intimidated by hiking back up the dam and walked out to the State Park.
Couldn't paddle with our boats on Cole Pond due to strict regulations to keep out invasive species. We went to Lowell Lake which we enjoyed. The weather wasn't great and we suspect this kept others away. Another day we went to Gale Pond. I suggest going early. Again the weather was iffy and few people were there. As it started to clear and we were leaving several fishing boats with motors were launching.
We have rented many properties and I would recommend this one. It was easy to see that it would be a great ski house as well.
