Lovely and comfortable cottage in the woods

5 of 5
Our family had a great week in late July and early August staying in this lovely cottage set in woods near Stowe. Apparently originally built as a two-bedroom home, it was doubled in size to add a master suite with stain-glass windows, fireplace and jacuzzi, a parlor/sunroom, a laundry room, etc. The kitchen is all new but the feel with slate floors and fireplace is rustic and cozy. The back yard is set up for a barbeque and picnic. The town of Stowe is charming with good restaurants and markets. We found a lot to do nearby including two remarkable waterfalls with pools for swimming (Brighton Falls off of Route 108 and another two miles north of Stowe off of Route 100); hiking to Sterling Pond from Smugglers’ Notch; biking along the trail that straddles Route 108; poking around craft shops, cafes, and clothes stores; the obligatory Ben and Jerry’s tour; and it only took about 40 minutes to get to Burlington for a ferry ride and then another 15 minutes to get to Shelburne Farms with lots of kids’ activities.

Perfect Wedding Home Base!

5 of 5
We stayed at the Blue Heron Cove with Francine and Eric for our wedding in Waterbury. We had use of the downstairs suite and the upstairs suite. It was an amazing place to prepare for my wedding. The views are unbelievably gorgeous , my sister and I walked the trails in the woods the morning of my wedding, we were able to have our after-party by the fire and were welcomed so kindly we knew we would have and amazing stay. If you are considering staying here, I can give you our recommendation - it's amazing!

Cosy and charmant holding house

Excellent stay. Very Nice house, interesting place in the heart of the village. We love antics and those in the house are fabulous! We recommend.
