Ginger House!

4 of 5
The Ginger House is a great place for a summer weekend, amidst a canopy of trees, perfect for providing a cool stay. Its proximity to both Waterbury and Stowe makes it convenient for restaurants, shopping and outdoor activities. The owner is quite accommodating and really wants the renter to enjoy their stay. We would love to return and see the Ginger House in the winter season!

Lovely and comfortable cottage in the woods

5 of 5
Our family had a great week in late July and early August staying in this lovely cottage set in woods near Stowe. Apparently originally built as a two-bedroom home, it was doubled in size to add a master suite with stain-glass windows, fireplace and jacuzzi, a parlor/sunroom, a laundry room, etc. The kitchen is all new but the feel with slate floors and fireplace is rustic and cozy. The back yard is set up for a barbeque and picnic. The town of Stowe is charming with good restaurants and markets. We found a lot to do nearby including two remarkable waterfalls with pools for swimming (Brighton Falls off of Route 108 and another two miles north of Stowe off of Route 100); hiking to Sterling Pond from Smugglers’ Notch; biking along the trail that straddles Route 108; poking around craft shops, cafes, and clothes stores; the obligatory Ben and Jerry’s tour; and it only took about 40 minutes to get to Burlington for a ferry ride and then another 15 minutes to get to Shelburne Farms with lots of kids’ activities.

The perfect get-away cottage

5 of 5
We reluctantly left Stowe almost two weeks ago. It is difficult to drive away from your favorite ski area with over two feet of fresh powder on the slopes. Leaving the skiing behind was, however, easier than leaving Virginia's beautiful Steeple Cottage. The wonderful reviews that have preceded ours give an accurate glimpse of the pure comfort and sense of style that we enjoyed throughout our stay. Every aspect of the cottage seemed like what we so often wish for but rarely find in a vacation home. Steeple Cottage, with it's great kitchen and lovely dining room with a view, was the perfect place to entertain our New England friends. They all enjoyed it thoroughly and complimented us on our good taste and clever choice of vacation spots. We happily accepted all compliments while feeling that we were actually just very lucky to have found such a unique cottage. We passed along the compliments to Virginia for she truly created every detail of the cottage. It is a work of art.
