Our stay was May 2nd - 9th

The cottage is very nice. Beautiful view nice location. However, the thermostat was set at 68 and locked and we roasted the whole week. Overall it was clean but the dust under the beds and behind furniture set off our allergies and made us miserable. Also the grill was so rusted and falling apart that we did not dare to use it so we bought a portable one.

I wish we could have stayed longer!

This place is completely private and wonderfully secluded! The owners went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and everything was just right when there was a minor hiccup with the sink. The cottage is nestled at the base of a hill (mountain?), with a brook right in the back. I would imagine on warm nights, the sound of the brook is amazingly soothing (it was too cold on our visit to leave windows and doors open!). You can also trek up the hill and star gaze in two chairs halfway up. The kitchen is nicely apportioned. It is the perfect little home away from home! The upstairs is a little difficult to get up and down (especially in the middle of the night when you have to pee!), but they also provide a pull out sofa downstairs for those that need it.

fantastic views

Just got back from a very restful vacation. Loved the canoe and kayaking with the kids. The house has a full kitchen which saved us money on eating out. We played lots of board games and spent lots of time at the "beach" two lots down and walking the dog around the neighborhood. The house is rustic and the spiral staircase made us a bit nervous. There is no wifi and the TV is very small with limited channels, but we weren't looking for luxury. We actually watched some kid movies on video tapes which my kids had never seen before. We enjoyed the sound of birds, frogs and a daily visit from a family of ducks. Great place for a quiet get away.
