A very inviting home away from home

5 of 5
David and Caitlin's house is more than just a vacation home. It has all the comforts of your own home, and has been decorated carefully and tastefully. The kitchen is very well equipped, and there is a closet full of movies and games for kids and adults alike. The bedrooms are spacious, the beds very comfortable, and the big jacuzzi tub is the best thing to glide into after a "tough" day on the mountain. Stratton is less than 15 minutes away. We were here for snow sports, but it's not hard to imagine the house would be a great place to stay during summer. The surroundings and nearby towns are very scenic. In case you are ill-prepared, David and Caitlin left a binder full of information on the town's history, things to do and places to eat in the surrounding area. Great house, great hosts!

Home away from home

5 of 5
I have stayed at this property in both the summer and winter. Both were equally wonderful. All the modern amenities you have at your own home and so much space to spread out. It's a great mountain property with lots of privacy. Close to the mountains and shopping. I hope to be able to stay here again.

Great, cozy house in the woods

5 of 5
My wife, 2-yr-old daughter and I rented the house for a 3-day weekend and were very happy with the space and amenities, all of which were exactly as advertised. The house has a very cozy feel to it and is very well maintained. The location is nice and secluded and offers a nice break from city noise, if you happen to be coming from NYC or another urban area. The night we got there it was about 25 degrees outside and the house was quite chilly but warmed up very nicely within a few hours after we turned on the heat. Having two bathrooms was a nice feature as well. We highly recommend Jake's Tavern (about 5 or 10 minutes north by car) for great bar food in a family-friendly atmosphere (you'll be very happy here if you like wings) - our daughter has a peanut allergy and Jake's uses no nut oils or nuts in any of their food. Proximity to excellent state parks is great - plenty of great hiking nearby. Can only imagine how beautiful it must be in the winter. Payment and communication with Theresa (the owner) was easy and clear - no surprises, which is a good thing in this regard. Highly recommended all around. Thanks, Theresa!
