Outstanding value, natural wonders, and solitude

5 of 5
My wife and I booked the Pondhouse in early October in order to enjoy the fall season at its best. We were both left speechless by the natural beauty of Vermont and suprised by the lack of urban sprawl we normally see while on vacation. The small towns surrounding this property are unspoiled with plenty of attractions. Ellen has created a world class property for guests to relax within a beautiful natural setting. AND she chooses to keep the nightly rate very reasonable even though we feel other owners would be tempted to charge more (for such clean, spacious, and comfortable accommodations). Not sure how to impress upon other potential guests just how rare it is to find the combination of low price and outstanding property features Ellen has created for all to enjoy... The Pondhouse is located on a large parcel with great views of the surrounding forest, water features, and wildlife. No expense was spared during construction with expansive glass and 12-14' catherdal ceilings waiting for guests to enjoy. We loved it! To us it is a "cottage" that thinks it is an expansive estate house :-) We wish you the best during your stay and believe you will really enjoy it. We would not hesitate to book again! . .

Amazing!

5 of 5
This home was everything that it was stated to be...spacious, comfortable, wonderful kitchen for family meals, beautiful outside property to explore and enjoy...surrounded by the mountains including a wonderful view of Mt Mansfield, the highest peak in VT. The owner and caretaker were very helpful and friendly. I know this is generally a ski rental but we enjoyed it tremendously mid July as a home away from home while preparing for a family wedding in the area. We enjoyed driving the mountain road over to the town of Stowe as well as getting into Burlington which was about 30 min away. Thank you so much for opening your home up for others to enjoy! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a retreat close to a beautiful part Vermont and can only imagine how beautiful it is in the winter as well!

Wonderful winterland escape

5 of 5
Kurt & Corey are wonderful hosts and the cottage is adorable and a perfect weekend escape. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. Their property is beautiful and the surrounding area of Vermont is stunning and an easy drive away. Kurt was incredibly helpful before our stay with directions to the cottage & advice on activities to do in the area. He recommended two restaurants, one in Burlington (Farmhouse Tap & Restaurant) & Stowe (Stowe Mountain Lodge) and they were easily our favorite meals of the weekend. The morning we were to leave there was a freezing rain storm and trees were down in the driveway blocking our car in. Kurt and his neighbors kindly went out and cut the trees down so we could get out as planned. We were so appreciative as we had a long drive back to NYC. All in all a wonderful cottage, kind hosts and a lovely part of the country! We highly recommend staying here!!
