I fell in love with this home away from home the minute my sister & I drove up! We came for a "Sister's Getaway", a long overdue vacation for just the two of us. This was the perfect spot for us to enjoy ourselves. I am not at B&B kind of gal nor do I like staying at a lodge. Cabin rentals are my preferred accommodations when vacationing. This quaint 200+ year old farmhouse was just perfect. Located on a quiet country lane just minutes from town you have the best of both worlds. A beautiful sunrise can be seen on the front porch and amazing sunsets delight from the screened side porch. The cabin is like a dream home for me as a lover of old homes. So much of the homes vintage charm remains intact. It is tastefully decorated combining a few modern items along with vintage and antique. The kitchen was one of my favorite rooms! Very quaint, I felt like I was back in my grandmother's kitchen enjoying breakfast. (Farm fresh were left in the fridge for our enjoyment.) The beds were very comfortable with their vintage quilts inviting you to a restful nights sleep. I really wish I could have purchased the quilt in the room where I slept! Rochester is a very welcoming town with great eats and shops. We loved the cabin owners resale shop and made quite a few purchases there! Beauty greeted us around every corner. I could not stop taking pictures! Take a drive to the Green Mountains while in the area. Who knew this Texas girl would have to come all the way to Vermont to find Texas Falls! It is worth the stop to see. I highly recommend this lovely place for your Vermont vacation! It must be AMAZING in the Fall!

We needed a place to stay for a while during a transition to a new job and this provided a real home away from home for both my husband and for our family when we were able to be up here. It was the perfect place to start our Rochester area adventure. While our stay was longer than many other's might be, we think anyone visiting, even briefly, would settle right in and feel at home. Each room reflects the artistic creativity of the owners and their attention to the details that make a big difference--like the super comfortable wing chairs in both a corner in the kitchen and a nook on the upstairs landing. Both of these beg readers or resters to sit and linger. Beautiful artwork graces the walls, along with interesting, eye catching accent pieces elsewhere. The house has a spacious, yet comfy and cozy feel. The kitchen really is equipped for almost anything you would want to cook and the table easily accommodates a crowd. The beds welcome tired guests and the comfortable mattresses and linens ensure a good night's sleep so you're ready to explore Rochester's charming village, an easy walk away. Check out the Country Store and Café.
