THE BEST PLACE IN NEW ENGLAND!

5 of 5
Wow! Where do I even start? Usually when looking for a vacation rental, I have a bunch of houses I go back and forth looking at, trying to decide what works, what doesn't, and then finally deciding on the best of the bunch... in this case, it was the first house I saw, the first reviews I read and that was it, locked in my dates within an hour of inquiring and it was a done deal and boy, was it ever! I have NEVER had a better vacation than the one I just had at this rental. All of the reviews on this property and the owners were spot on, accurate and truthful, without a doubt! And what can I possibly add that hasn't already been said by everyone else reviewing this property? As an entrepreneur who works from home, who is "plugged in" ALWAYS, who is 24/7 with her clients, this was the FIRST time in more years than I can remember that I actually "unplugged" for the entire week and didn't feel guilty because what I felt the entire week was that I was FINALLY getting a chance to feel normal again, to feel like it was okay to have a vacation and to thoroughly enjoy myself, geez, what a concept, and yet, for workaholics like myself, vacation is like a curse and yet... in this place and with Kristi and Ed, I wanted to just stay and never leave... I did things this past week that I haven't allowed myself to do in years... hiking at Mt. Pisgau, antiquing throughout the Northeast Kingdom, eating at the Parker Pie Company and having my first beer since high school, walking the long AND short roads, having nightly wine tasting in the cottage, watching the loons learning how to fly on the pond, canoeing at sunrise, watching the mist rise above the water, reading a book for the first time in forever on the porch overlooking the pond, watching Sunday, Monday and Thursday night football, a guilty pleasure I never allow myself, making dinner each night as the sun went down... the list just goes on and on and on of things I haven't done in years and it's all because Kristi and Ed set the tone from the moment we arrived at the cottage to the moment we left this morning and said goodbye to them... it was like saying goodbye to old friends even though we had just met them a week before. When do you EVER have an experience like that and yet, that is the exact experience we had this week. You want to talk about a five-star experience, the kind that people travel all over the world to have? Well, you don't have to travel any further than this place.

Wonderful visit and great cabin

5 of 5
Perfect accomodatons for our needs. Did some fall biking around Jay Peak and the cabin was clean, great location and owner very helpful. I can highly recommend this cabin anyone looking for a private get-away for any need be it, skiing, hiking, biking or simply relaxing. Will gladly go back as often as I can. Bob

Great vacation

5 of 5
We found the house very well equipped for a relaxing vacation. Everything was very clean and comfortable, all small details taken into consideration. Kitchen has everything needed for cooking even elaborate meals. Beds are very comfortable. The floor plan of the house works well for several families, as it provides full privacy. The deck is wonderful for having family meals, and is equipped with high-end grill. It's not recommended to let small kids run around on it though, as it is not child proof. The wireless internet, high end TVs, and blue rays are a very nice touches. What impressed me most that every single room has it's own thermostat! Not that we needed heat in August, but it would be very convenient in the winter! We also enjoyed using the club house, which has indoor and outdoor heated pools, billiard room, kids room with many toys and games, and even a piano. It also has gas and charcoal grills for everybody to use. There are many recreational attractions in the area, including fishing, hiking, boating, petting zoos, etc. Town of Bennington only 30 min from the property provides some historical attractions and good museums. The owner, Irene, is very easy going and easy to deal with. Everything was very well organized and coordinated. The instructions in the welcome doc had a lot of useful details, and even recommendations for the local restaurants. Overall we enjoyed our stay in this property and would like to come back next year. It's recommended to have a 4 wheel drive if coming in winter time.
