Beautiful family retreat

5 of 5
Our four generations from three states gathered at Curtis Hollow Farm to celebrate my mother-in-law's 92nd birthday. It is a beautiful and well equipped house on a lovely property. With walking trails on their land, we took several interesting and picturesque exploratory walks. Some family members fished nearby. Alas, with not luck.. We visited historic Billings Farm in Woodstock for their animal displays. The house has several locations to either be together or sneak some solitary time. The beds were extremely comfortable, which as someone with back issues is very important to me. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you will need to cook to your heart's content. There is spotty wifi, so come prepared to go out some if you feel the urgent need to stay connected to the outer world OR just tune out for a while. There IS working cable TV for staying in tune with what's happening out there! The owners were extremely pleasant to work with and accommodating. Loved our stay here and hope to return.

Quintessential Vermont Country Farmhouse

5 of 5
My husband and I had a most wonderful stay at this charming Vermont farmhouse! With 5 bedrooms it was difficult to decide which room to select! We thoroughly enjoyed the very comfortable and spacious living room with views of pastures and rolling hills; especially relaxing by the fireplace at night after long days of hiking and seeing the sites. This tranquil location was just what we needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. The eat-in colonial kitchen is well stocked and we had our choice of dining there or in the dining room! Or dining out of course! It truly will be a great place to bring our family and friends for a getaway this winter as they are skiers and Okemo Mt. is in the neighboring town. I look forward to the cross country skiing and snowshoeing! This location can't be beat, very private surrounded by woods with spectacular views. The added bonus was the opportunity to walk to the barn and see the horses and sheep that reminded me of visiting farms as a child. We even picked raspberries and my husband just had to experience haying for the first time! We had the opportunity to meet the owners who were very accommodating. I highly recommend this rental and we will definitely be back!

Awesome Family Getaway

5 of 5
Thank you Susan for sharing your wonderful island home! Our family of 7 adults and 2 teenagers enjoyed every aspect of this beautiful farmhouse, water front access, and lovely grounds. We have several great cooks and a chef in the family and the kitchen was totally equipped with everything we need for yummy meals. One of the favorite indoor spots for dining, games, and hanging out was the enclosed porch with amazing views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains. There was plenty of room for all of us to sleep, on real beds, and the bathroom situation was more than adequate for our group. We loved the waterfront and use of the kayaks as well as all the other toys and the outdoor fire pit. Some of us are big time cyclists so we brought our own bicycles and it was so nice to have a secure place to store them when we were not riding (great riding on the islands). Thanks again for making such a wonderful home available for vacationing families!
