Absolute delight!

5 of 5
My husband and I spent four weeks at Jim Campbell’s rental on Lake Memphremagog during the summer of 2014. When we arrived the house was spotlessly clean. We had a wonderful stay with great weather and cozy accommodations. During our stay, we had three separate groups of family and friends that came and stayed with us. They were all suitably impressed with the quality of the house and location. We spent many hours enjoying the deck, biking and walking on the old rail-bed trail along the lake. Perch fishing in the lake was quite good, and we had several fish feeds. While we were there, a sink started to drain slowly. We let Jim know, and he was there that day and addressed it. We look forward to another great summer vacation in Jim’s rental house

Great Rustic cottage on the Lake

5 of 5
We were returned to the cottage for our second consecutive year and had a wonderful experience on both occasions! We brought along two 10 year olds and our half crazy dog Yodi. We stayed in the larger cottage which has plenty of room for more. I believe it was built in the 1920's and has a great deal of character. Unlike one of the previous reviewers, we were not expecting, or desiring a stay at the Hilton. If you are, don't stay here, but if you would like you and your kids to be away from your cell phones, with days filled with fishing, sunsets and simplicity, by all means, stay here! The owner of the property, Bob, was very accommodating to our every need. In fact, the other cottage was vacant the week we were there, and we asked Bob if, perhaps we could rent it for a couple of nights as we had friends who were planning on a visit. He said to not worry about it, "Let them enjoy it"! A couple of days later some one called who wanted to rent the second cottage for the week. Bob approached us and asked us if it was ok. He was actually going to let us have the cabin for free rather than rent it for a fee. Now that's service. Of course we thanked Bob for his consideration, but told him to make some money during the short season. We never felt unsafe or uncomfortable, as the previous reviewer had, nor did we expect polished silver and room service! It bothers me that one who may expect this from a 1920's cabin would write such a caustic review without consideration of possible consequences to the owner. She may want to stay closer to home in New Jersey!

Like sleeping in the treetops

5 of 5
I've stayed in this camp several times over the past few years. It is always the perfect summer getaway. The place is always clean and comfortable, and it's a very short walk to the beach. It sits amid a cluster of adorable 1920s cabins, all linked by grassy paths, and yet all very private. My top memories of staying in this camp are 1) Sleeping on the screened in porch, while watching Mars glow in the star-filled sky; 2) Taking the kayak down to the lake one morning to paddle around in the mist with the loons; 3) Enjoying sunset evenings with a glass of wine on the deck, overlooking the lake and mountains. With its views and proximity to the beach, it's an incredible value!
