Cozy and Relaxing!

5 of 5
Our first visit to northern Vermont. The cozy Carmel Loft set the stage for a wonderful, memorable visit! We feasted on the local fare, saw the beautiful changing autumn leaves, visited such places as St Mary's church in Newport, the Von Trapp Lodge, and looked across the border into Canada. Our trip also included visiting relatives and taking in the local culture, and walking through the small towns and talking with the local folks. We will mark time from this trip and plan to visit the Carmel Loft/cabin again.

Can't get enough Woodstock (in good hands with Bob and Sherry)!

5 of 5
We've stayed here two or three times, always in the winter. Bob and Sherry are great hosts, unfailingly warm and available. They have ideas of where to go/eat, spare sleds if you need them, found us a great babysitter several times, etc. They love their spot and it shows. The apartment is laid out nicely; even with a 1br we stayed last with our two kids (3yo and 1yo with no problems). Kitchen has everything you need. The town is really special and picturesque. Nice hiking options, good food to be found (particularly the farmer's market store). We've eaten several times at the Simon Pearce Restaurant, where the food is really nice (almost as nice as the setting - overlooking a damn). We even did a Burlington day trip one visit and it was a bit long but doable.

Beautiful, peaceful, relaxing

5 of 5
Absolutely loved it here! I stayed for a little more than two weeks and hated to leave. Perfect place to get away from it all - spent lots of time reading, kayaking, biking, hiking, swimming, and star-gazing. Barb was so friendly, apartment was comfortable. Just can't say enough good things. Definitely planning on going back.
