We loved it ! / Nous avons adoré !

Fielder Farm is in a charming, out-of-the-way and quiet place. The view on the fourth highest summit of Vermont, Camel’s Hump, is fabulous. The shelter, an ox beef red barn has a lot of windows for natural light and is well equipped. Books everywhere, art works and picturesque paintings, a good wood stove with plenty of wood, a kitchen with everything you need, outdoor whirlpool recently installed, a lots of comfortable beds, the cachet brought by the wooden interior and by the architecture of posts and beams : everything is pleasant for the eye, soothing. Finally, once cleared, we even had the chance to play hockey with the nets and the sticks supplied by the hosts. For hockey lovers, what to ask furthermore? Brilliant! Amazing Amazing Amazing

I cannot say enough what a pleasure it was to stay in this home. It is obviously a well loved and well cared for home. Ben was beyond generous and available and always happy and a pleasure to speak/deal with. The house is roomy and warm, with lots of cozy charm and the kitchen is the best stocked for cooking I have ever experienced in a rental. We were there a week, two couples, and we cooked every meal. There were a couple of winter storms and we lost power, but the electric company worked fast, and Ben was on the scene quickly as well with candles and extra firewood. We stayed warm and happy. The home is located near great skiing - and the property and neighborhood was great for walking around. Nearby shopping accessible by car. All our needs were met and beyond. We hope to return for the dog sledding Ben hosts! Listing accurate - pictures accurate - clean, well-maintained. Owner easy to deal with, responsive, on the ball and super friendly. Cannot recommend more highly. Oh, we went online and found a massage therapist who got a colleague to come for a house call. That was great. http://www.wisehandsvermont.com Really, most I have to say is ENJOY.

Relaxing week, Great Accommodations

4 of 5
My family of 4, including two teen children spent 1 week at the Aldrich Carriage Barn. This second level walk-up apartment has all the comforts of home and is was very appointed. The beds are very comfortable and the entire suite is super clean. Our favourite place in the cottage had to be the window bench which overlooked Claire's garden. The cottage is not located on the waterfront but it is only a few minutes walk to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed the tranquility of Isle La Motte and my husband and son spent most days fishing on Lake Champlain. The lake is clean and has an abundance of fish. There is a private beach but it was quite narrow as the water was high when we visited. However, there is a wonderful shaded deck which overlooks the water and beach area, where my daughter and I spent many afternoons just reading. I brought my bicycle and toured the island as the scenery is fabulous. Many of the roads follow the shoreline and they is minimal traffic and the roadways are excellent. There is no internet and this is an amenity that we missed. A big thank you to Claire & Mike for their hospitality and their great place.
