A Hidden Gem

5 of 5
I had been to Bald Hill Pond in the past and was taken by the serene setting. There are a few cabins on the pond but they located on the southern side which means that most of it, and the surrounding lands, are wild and undeveloped. So I was excited to find this cabin and its gracious owners. They truly want you to enjoy the place as though you are their guest. The cabin mirrors the spring-fed pond. It is pristine. The views alone are worth a visit. But the pond is where you should spend your time. It is a quiet water pond - perfect for kayaking, fishing, and bird watching. A hike up to Bald Hill (actually a small mountain) is also recommended. The view is priceless and it places the pond and cabin in perspective. We will be back. Javier, Julie. & Olivia.

Wonderful House for Family Vacation

5 of 5
We selected this beautiful 6 bedroom, four bathroom log cabin for our family vacation because we had been there before and our married children and grandchildren love the house. The placement of the rooms affords separate ares for sleeping for each family. The whole family enjoys the pool table and other amenities of the recreation area in the loft and the large dining table and bar stools at the kitchen counter provide a nice area for breakfast and eating. The children love the huge yard where they can play and the beautiful deck provides a comfortable area for the grown ups to entertain. Ludlow is close to hiking trails and historic sites such as Calvin Coolidge's home, Robert Todd Lincoln's Hildene, Woodstock, The Billings Farm and many hiking trails. Our grandchildren look forward to returning to the log cabin. We highly recommend this home for large families or groups of friends. The home is well furnished and provides any utensils and electrical appliances needed in the kitchen.

The Best Camp In South Hero Awaits

5 of 5
Fell absolutely in love with this camp. Definitely one of the newer and modern camps located in the area. Inside the camp are big windows that allow lots of ambient light from outside to illuminate the camp inside so little need to turn on any lights inside the camp. At night the windows help provide a nice cross-breeze in the camp when combined with the ceiling fans. A full kitchen with an island which was fantastic.Oven and microwave were great and the refrigerator/freezer was clean and spacious. Even water and ice cubes were provided for our stay which was nice. Both bedrooms had comfortable beds with spacious closets. The master bedroom had a TV which was a big plus. Both bedrooms also had ceiling fanst. The queen size futon was also very comfortable and especially nice to sleep on at night with the cross-breezes. Plenty of chairs inside the camp and the kitchen table was nice and spacious. All cooking utensils, bakeware, drinkware and spices were at our disposal. Keurig coffee maker was also a big plus. Both bathrooms were great and well lit and ventilated with fans. Shower in the master bathroom was awesome and the ½ bathroom was especially handy for guests. Having a washer/dryer onsite was especially handy. Plenty of towels and replacement lines were also available. We really enjoyed the nice spacious deck outside. The front deck is shaded in the morning and the side deck gets more shade in the afternoon. Late afternoon/early evening the trees provide additional shade for the whole deck. It was so very nice having breakfast and supper at the table on the deck and many afternoons spent kicking back in their beach chairs. The lawn was so very big and was great for just about any lawn game you love. The fire pit was great and located between the front of the camp and the lake. You get a fantastic view of the sunset across the lake. Just a small walk down the road and you can catch the sunrise if you’re an early bird. The lower beach area was great, again especially if you have small kids. Lots of sand to dig in and the water was very shallow so your little ones will have a ball. Two kayaks were so fun to use. The owner was available if we ever needed anything fixed or replaced. We noticed that the water pressure had gotten low but the owner came immediately to remedy the issue and all was well again. It’s nice to have an owner that is available when needed. We look forward to coming back.
