Fairy Tale Cottage with all the Ammenities

5 of 5
My son and I had the privilege of being the first guests at the Stone Cottage after its recent extensive renovations. If Hansel and Gretel skied this is where they would want to stay on vacation. The cottage was hand crafted by a mason from Scotland from local stones. It really does look like the set for a fairy tale. That being said, the Stone Cottage now features every modern convenience you can think of--great kitchen, big TVs with full cable offerings and really nice attention to detail everywhere you look. There is a hiking/snowshoeing trail through the property and nearby Sterling Gorge is a spectacular geological formation. The town of Stowe is justly famous for its world class restaurants, breweries and night clubs. Stowe Mountain Resort is arguably the best ski resort in the East and Stowe also has an unmatched network of groomed cross country ski trail. Mountain bikers from all over the country flock to Stowe for some of the best single track anywhere.

I wish we could have stayed longer!

5 of 5
This place is completely private and wonderfully secluded! The owners went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and everything was just right when there was a minor hiccup with the sink. The cottage is nestled at the base of a hill (mountain?), with a brook right in the back. I would imagine on warm nights, the sound of the brook is amazingly soothing (it was too cold on our visit to leave windows and doors open!). You can also trek up the hill and star gaze in two chairs halfway up. The kitchen is nicely apportioned. It is the perfect little home away from home! The upstairs is a little difficult to get up and down (especially in the middle of the night when you have to pee!), but they also provide a pull out sofa downstairs for those that need it.

Spectacular view with well equipped cottage

4 of 5
Amazing property. Plenty of room for large family or friends, yet cozy enough for two. Beautiful area with spectacular views from cottage, picnic table, or camp chairs of the lake. Peaceful and relaxing with the fall colors blending through. It was the perfect place to renew our wedding vows for our 10th anniversary! We totally recommend staying here and we hope to return for years to come.
