Delightful!!

5 of 5
We absolutely loved our stay at this log cabin. Our family and our good friends stayed here during the Mid-Winter school vacation. This was my first time in Vermont and it was particularly freezing that week, so dangerously cold that Mt. Snow shut down the lifts for a morning. That didn't keep us from having a fabulous time. The cabin made our stay wonderful...we made a roaring fire in the beautiful stone fireplace, baked cookies in the clean, fully stocked kitchen, and our young kids (8 year olds and a 5 year old) loved the loft where they could have their own special hang-out area. The cabin has big windows and it is filled with light. My favorite memory is having coffee sitting by the big kitchen table window, watching snow fall gently into the forest out back, which was already blanketed in snow. I agree with the other raters that the pictures on this site do not do the place justice and that John and Betty Ann were great -- extremely responsive. We hope to come back!

Loved the Black Bear Cabin!

5 of 5
Spent three nights at the Black Bear Cabin while skiing at Jay Peak during Feb 2015. Cabin was as nice as advertised. Very clean, cozy and warm! (crazy cold weather with -18 one morning!) We had four adults and four kids. Kids loved the loft and spent entire time up there. Beds were great. My only suggestion would be to add a few things to the kitchen - A colander (pasta is a big ski dinner favorite), a large pasta pot (we couldn't find the lobster pot advertised) and a few more dish towels. We would definitely recommend the cabin! Lastly, the check-in/check-out process was incredibly easy - loved the VRBO app and notifications. J&K
