Cute, comfortable cabin

5 of 5
This cabin was great. It is cozy and has all the amenities and necessities you would want for a cabin in Vermont. We really enjoyed the hot tub, fireplace, deck and movie projection screen. Jeff, the owner was great to work with. The booking process was seamless and he followed up with me before we got there to see if we had any questions. He returned the deposit promptly. He had a book of information on the area which was very helpful. There were also detailed instructions all throughout the house on how to use things, etc. The two things to note are that it is not a large cabin...especially the bedrooms. There were four of us, a baby and two dogs and we were definitely at capacity in the cabin. The second, smaller bedroom requires you to climb into a loft if you have more than one person in the bedroom. Secondly, the cabin is far away from nearby town(s). I think Waitsfield/warren are the closest decent size towns and they are a good 20 minute drive away. However, we were close to some good hikes. If you don't mind driving to towns and/or want a secluded cabin this is the place for you!

Wonderful visit and great cabin

5 of 5
Perfect accomodatons for our needs. Did some fall biking around Jay Peak and the cabin was clean, great location and owner very helpful. I can highly recommend this cabin anyone looking for a private get-away for any need be it, skiing, hiking, biking or simply relaxing. Will gladly go back as often as I can. Bob

A cabin with everything you need

5 of 5
This was the perfect escape from our daily work-school routine, a wilderness retreat replete with all the comforts of home - and then some! We spent a week with our children at this lovely cabin, eating a relaxing breakfast on the big front porch in the morning and watching fireflies by candlelight at night while curled up in the Adirondack chairs. In between, we soaked up the sunshine and plenty of frigid river water (we're from Florida) in a backyard oasis where the only sounds we heard were the rushing waters, the birds and our kids' squeals as they took turns shooting the "rapids.'' A little beach provided ample room for more chairs and a bonfire, where we roasted hot dogs and, later, marshmallows as the adults sipped wine. A friendly neighbor provided fresh strawberries from his garden and lively conversation. A short trip into Chester brought us to rustic antique shops, local artists' galleries and funky restaurants and taverns. We even ventured to New Hampshire so our car could climb Mount Washington! But with such a cozy cabin, you really won't want to venture far. Everything you need, from dishes to linens to a gas stove and washer and dryer are at your fingertips. We enjoyed a family movie night almost every night, thanks to a thoughtful selection of movies left by the gracious hosts. We also had puzzles and plenty of books, including an antique one on the wondrous trips to be taken in Victorian Vermont. Seems like time might be standing still in this little neck of the woods. Hoping to visit again soon! Sherri & Steve Zane & Annabelle
