Nice Place to Stay while in Killington

5 of 5
Our friends and family stayed for a long weekend in March 2015. Place was larger than expected and more than enough room for 4 small families. Everything was very clean and owners are very courteous. They do not try to nickel and dime as most of the other owners are capable of doing in the Killington area. Within 15 minutes of the Killington access road. Really happy that we stay here. We will make contact once again for the 2016 Season.

Perfect place for a family getaway!

5 of 5
My wife and I stayed at this property with our two children (ages 8 and 10) and another couple and their two children (ages 10 and 12). We had a wonderful time / experience and found the home to be spacious and comfortable. Everything is exactly as advertised. The pictures, while fine, do not convey the full charm and warmth of the house. My wife and I slept well in the upstairs bedroom (comfy bed, slept like a baby) while the kids were in a room with bunk-beds. The other couple was in the downstairs room while their kids slept on the 2nd floor, in an additional bedroom. As John points out in his description, it was great to have sheets and towels at our disposal. When staying in another persons home, I am always sensitive to the kitchen and the living area. Specifically, will it have the pots, pans and other utensils required for a good breakfast before skiing and will there be a comfy spot to sit apres-ski? Happy to report a resounding yes for both. My secret aspiration is to open a diner, so I am a bit finicky about have the right gear. Thankfully, i was not disappointed. Founds all the pots, pans, etc, that were need for a combination of omelette, bacon, and excellent egg sandwiches for breakfast before we headed out to Killington (under 15 minutes away). At the end of the day, we stopped at the General Store (three minutes from the house) to buy two six-packs of Long Trail (purchased "Stand Out" and "Sick Day", to commemorate an awesome ski day. My buddy and I sat by the fire, drinking our beers and relishing the perfect day, while the kids played elsewhere. Could have easily spent the night in that exact spot, had it not before for dinner plans at another location. All in all, it was a great place and made for a great weekend. Touching on a few of the 'tips for writing reviews' section: - As detailed above, the listing description was accurate regarding location, layout, amenities, etc. - The property was very clean and well maintained. You can tell the owners pour a lot of love and attention into this house. - Did the owner provide good customer service? John couldn't have been nicer. He was more than responsive to any question I had, even provided guidance on which runs my kids should take (it was their first time at Killington). - Would I recommend this property to a friend on relative. Definitely yes. Have fun!

Great house in the Killington area

5 of 5
We just got back from an amazing weekend up in the area and this house had everything we could have needed. We spent 4 days at the house and did a getaway for a group of friends who were throughout the country. Including a guy who grew up 20 miles away, who was thrilled to have a house to rent this close to home. We rented snow mobiles through http://www.snowmobilevermont.com which could not have been better to deal with.. 5 star recommendation for them! A few of us went skiing as well. But I digress back to the house. we had plenty of room for the crew we were with to sleep and spread out, there were plenty of beds, couches, futons, etc. a couple of the guys brought inflatable mattresses and had there own space. The pics don't really do the house the justice it deserves as far as space goes. We planned on ordering pizzas and food outside of the house but as soon as we stepped into the house and saw all of the cooking tools provided we went to the store and decided to cook in every night. The provided grill was great, the cooking materials were well stocked! We had a few pro-am cooks with us that gave us plenty of food morning-noon-night throughout the stay. The character of this house is the real selling point. We loved the mountain cabin feel and atmosphere. There is plenty of parking space for up to 4-6 cars in a snow filled driveway, which was plowed. It was well within reach of the slopes and other attractions that Killington provides. We didn't see a single other person in the general vicinity or even the roads leading to the area. The information provided by Mike were easy to understand, the house was great, all in all I'm beyond impressed on the rental unit that gave us one of the best weekends for friends and family that I could have imagined.
