A month in Vermont - Wonderful

5 of 5
This is our second stay. We're an avid winter sports family who enjoy snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing, skiing and snowboarding. The house is ideally located about halfway between Jay Peak and Burke Ski mountains. It's also very close to many lakes (Seymour, Echo, Salem, Island Pond, Willoughby, Memphremagog, etc.) We were very happy to be able to snowshoe on the property which varies in terrain. There is also a short snowmobile access trail which connects to VAST junction OS15. Thanks so much Leslie for showing us the way. The double sided fireplace was great on some of those cold mornings (many overnights were in the minus teens) We'd turn it on from time to time just to take some of the morning chill away. The primary heat source is radiant floor heat so your feet are never cold on the wood or tile floors. A wood fired outdoor furnace heats the water and circulates it so the indoor temperature can fluctuate from time to time. Overall though we were very comfortable. We took walks on our snow shoes a few times to the field down behind the house and it was a great time. It was very quiet and peaceful and we even saw some deer. Just about every morning there was a fresh coating of 1-3, sometimes even 4" of snow, not to mention the several 6-10" snowfalls we experienced. The driveway was cleared when we had heavier snowfalls. As for parking, there is plenty of room! We were able to park our trailer out behind the house down a driveway that is maintained and our vehicles and snowmobiles were parked up front. Leslie, Gail's daughter who takes care of the house and who also lives here on the lower level was absolutely wonderful. She was a fantastic neighbor! She insisted we take advantage of the large yard and fields for us and our children to play in. She was very friendly, recommended some area dining and overall was a great person to be around. Our dogs even played together a few times. On the topic of dogs, Our 8 month old boxer came down with an eye issue about the time we arrived, think it started at home though. Leslie recommended a Veterinarian in Barton, about a half hour drive away, who was excellent. Got me right in and provided a very comprehensive evaluation on our dog. About 2 weeks after the end of our stay, as promised, my security deposit was returned with a very nicely hand written note of appreciation. Gail & Leslie were fantastic and we certainly plan to return. Thank you Bernie & Wendy

Fantastic long weekend at Tranquility Lodge...

5 of 5
We stayed at Kristen and Jason's home for a long weekend in March. The property is beautiful and so very comfortable-there is nothing you want or need once you arrive. There is plenty of space (we have a large group of 16 with lots of teens) to spread out; the kids hung out playing pool in the basement and the rest of us drank wine at their spacious kitchen table, or in front of the fireplace. Oh yes and we skied, too. Our first time at Jay Peak and we were not disappointed. Everyone was very friendly-no pretense to be found! We did not find the ride to the mountain to be a big deal at all; very easy to get to and under 30 minutes. And yes, the beds really are super comfy. The property is in pristine condition and super clean. We would definitely come back. Thank you Kristen and Jason, great customer service.

Easy, comfortable stay

5 of 5
The loft comfortably slept 3 of us for our college roommate reunion ski weekend. It was warm and cozy, and Linda and Jim were gracious hosts.
