Our Foliage Get Away in the Northeast Kingdom

5 of 5
My husband and I spent a week at this very nice country home in Barton, for our annual foliage vacation. Gail was very accessible and helpful from the very beginning of our interest in the home. I had several questions, that I needed answered before we could make our decision to rent, and Gail always got back to me very quickly to answer my questions. My husband and I found the house very comfortable and it had everything we needed, plenty of towels, hot water, kitchen accessories, wi fi worked well, all of which I cannot say for some other properties we have rented. Gail was available to us throughout our stay. She also had a personal greeting, on the dry erase board that greeted us, just inside the door, as well as an apple crisp and Vermont cheese, among other goodies, in the refrigerator. I would recommend this property for families, as there is plenty of space for children to play and make noise, as well as just for adults who like to get away from the hustle and bustle and have some quiet. Very nice view of the mountains, also, and very close to I91 to get to other parts of Vermont. A nice grocery store and two restaurants for breakfast/lunch all within a 5 minute drive, also.

Winter Ski Trip

5 of 5
We have a great time in Vermont staying at this beautiful farmhouse. The location was convenient to skiing at Burke Mountain (15-20 minutes) and the area / views were outstanding. Otto and Lynn, who own the house, live right down the street and could not have been nicer giving us a quick tour of the house as we arrived along with some fresh maple syrup, invited our kids come see their chickens, sheep and geese. The house is in great shape. There is plenty of room, extremely clean and it is stocked with different activities for the kids both inside (board games, DVD) and outside (logging trails) on the property. It was a great time and we look forward to coming back. The McDermott’s Barrington, RI
