Just got back from a long weekend at the 70s house. There were ten of us (couples and singles) in our early thirties who came to enjoy the Burke mountain area for a weekend of skiing. The house is very open and large. There are five comfortable rooms, all with queen beds except for one with two twin beds. The house also has three full bathrooms, which was nice for a big group. The house has a very cool (somewhat retro) vibe with huge vaulted ceilings and nice hardwood floors. The main woodstove in the huge living room was a great feature. We also loved the enormous dining room table and sectional sofa which seated all of us! The kitchen is pretty big and pretty well stocked, though the electric stove and rather invasive hood weren't the easiest to work with. Plenty of linens for beds and baths. The basement game room was fun and it was nice to have a washer and dryer.
Overall, we would definitely come back for another (pretty affordable) weekend! Burke is a wonderful ski area as well with cool terrain and few crowds despite the small size. A hot tub would put this house among my favorite that we have rented in New England, but there is not one (though there is a small jacuzzi bath tub in the master). Also, I wouldn't recommend this house for little children as there is a spiral staircase and lots of level changes that might make it difficult to keep everyone safe.
