Amazing getaway with friends!

5 of 5
Screaming Eagle Farm is better than pictured and offered more than I expected - would return in a heartbeat. I like looking at vacation listings, and have looked at hundreds where owners try to eek out every last bit of potential sleeping space (that single bed in the closet can easily fit two children!). This is not the case with Screaming Eagle, which offered more than I expected. It's an older house, so has some older home quirks - old windows, bedrooms that might need to be passed through, etc. But our group of friends (10 adults and a handful of kids) is okay with quirky - we mostly wanted a good kitchen and a comfortable place to congregate, which Screaming Eagle had aplenty. We loved the kitchen with its big island that lots of people could participate in cooking or munching, the back fridge that served as a bar area for us, the kids bunk room where the kids played and fell asleep watching old VCR tapes, the big dining and living room spaces where we congregated to chat, the amazing wrap around porch with great chairs and rockers, always with someone there eating or chatting, the wonderful fire pit up on the hill. The surrounding area is nice, although we didn't find a great swimming hole, but perhaps that will be left for a future visit. Communication with Dan the host was easy and clear. I would recommend this property without hesitation and it is highly likely that my friends and I will want to visit again next year. Thanks Dan and Screaming Eagle Farm for a wonderful time!

Peaceful farmhouse near Ludlow

4 of 5
We stayed here with family on a beautiful autumn weekend. The house was spacious, the beds comfortable, and the views lovely. The kitchen had all the basics to cook a meal and there was plenty of space for everyone at the table. My boyfriend and I loved taking a walk up the hill in the mornings to pick raspberries, and an extra treat was having horses and sheep on the property. The owners were helpful and friendly. The house felt secluded but was easy to find and within a short drive to Ludlow and other towns with plenty of shops, restaurants, etc.. My only wish is that we could have stayed a bit longer. We would definitely consider renting this property again sometime.

Best Ludlow Farmhouse - GREAT Place for a Retreat

5 of 5
Cathy and Tim did everything to make our stay enjoyable. I hold weekend retreats for my company, Got Clicks, and it's the perfect setting for an intimate gathering. Mixing business brainstorming with fun on the lake literally steps from the house, we had plenty of room to work on internet marketing ideas and enjoying the Vermont Country Store and Weston Playhouse literally 20 minutes away. The Okemo Alpine Slide is only a couple of miles up the road and wrapping everything up at Harry's Restaurant was a definite treat. Great location - close to everything. This classic Vermont farmhouse has all the warmth of Grandma's house right down to the tire swing in the front yard. Highly recommend this home.
