The perfect place to get away from it all :)

5 of 5
This was the first time my husband and I stayed at Donna's farm house cottage and we absolutely loved it there. The house was open and bright with views of the pasture and local hills. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for an easy visit. Donna even left a nice welcome note and a large bowl of wonderfully fresh plum tomatoes for us and they were delicious. When we arrived late on Friday night we found the house very easily with our GPS and everything was in order. It rained all day on Saturday but it didn't matter, as we visited the Vermont Country Store just up the road and the local antiques markets, and then off to our Godson's wedding that evening. The rain added to the charm of the area which is very country like and peaceful. Sunday was sunny and cool and sitting on the porch for morning coffee was wonderful. The gas stove heater was so easy to use (we're used to wood stoves), just a flick of the thermostat and the house warmed up. If you enjoy looking at craftmanship of house building...you will really enjoy looking at all of the wood beams in the home and how the builders put it all together. Overall, the house and owners were great to work with and we absolutely enjoyed our short stay. Would love to go back in the Springtime. Thank you Donna

Beautiful home in a GREAT location

5 of 5
The house is even nicer in person. Everything is new and clean and the bathrooms are gorgeous. We loved every minute of staying here. The lawn is big and great for games like frisbee, the fire pit is perfect and they left a shed full of wood for us to use. Paper towels, TP, bath towels, sheets, everything was provided and that made it SOO easy! From the dock, the lake isn't really all that swimable (shallow water with lillypads and mud) but there is a floating dock right off the dock (not sure if that belongs to the house or not) and there is a public beach down the road in the state park. There is also a main road across the lake (which is narrow at that part) from the house which we were surprised by, but it really didn't bother us ONE BIT! There was a kayak and a canoe that we took out and paddled around the lake which was great fun! For breakfast, try Cafe deLight (skip the Hatchery). Make sure you go to Buttermilk Falls (cold water but fun!) We had a blast and would ABSOLUTELY rent again. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us!

The perfect cottage for us

5 of 5
Our week at this cottage in Vermont turned out to be absolutely perfect. The place had everything - good kitchen, ample space, great dock, spectacular views, and all in front of a lovely, quiet lake. Even before the week was over, my wife said "we're coming here again next year, right?" And my 4-year-old daughter simply said, "I wish this was our cottage."
