Absolutely Stunning Rental!

5 of 5
Our family of six decided to spend a week in VT and we were lucky enough to find this gem of a home. Though we were overly excited just from viewing the pictures and description here, when we arrived at the home we were blown away by the beauty and comfort afforded to us. When we walked in, it was so much more than what we had expected. This beautiful home was a dream come true for us all. The comfort, the peacefulness, the beauty, it was almost overwhelming at first. I could not pull myself away from the gorgeous view, especially since we came at the peak of autumn, with the fall colors in full force. This home is very conveniently located, only a short ride from Bromley, Magic Mt, and Okemo. It's also quite close to Manchester, with its outlet shopping and Chester with its quaint restaurants and shops. We came with 2 children, and even though there was no TV, we found endless things to keep us occupied around the home. The large yard was a great place for the kids to run and play. Coming back in to the fireplace blazing, with plenty of seating for us all to relax around it, was a wonderful experience. With all the conveniences of home, including the full kitchen, the laundry area, numerous bathrooms, the sauna, as well as the seemingly endless reading nooks & the privacy and quietness, who would ever want to stay at a hotel or inn. We would go back in a heartbeat given the opportunity. Some places we visited nearby: Lowell Lake State Park for kayaking - Londonderry Jake's Restaurant & Tavern - Londonderry Up for Breakfast - Manchester MacLaomainn's Scottish Pub - Chester Gale Meadows Pond for kayaking - Winhall Green Mountain Railroad for scenic train ride to Ludlow - Chester

Great for a summer family vacation

5 of 5
Our three-generation family spent a wonderful week here: six adults, four children and a baby. We had a good idea of what to expect from the detailed description and pictures, and those expectations were certainly met. The entire house is nicely furnished, and there was plenty of comfortable seating in the living room and sitting area. It was great to have two areas to relax in: there was space to watch TV, read, play games from the well-stocked game selection. The dining room was big enough to fit us all as well, and the kitchen has a nice layout for multiple cooks and helpers. The grounds was gorgeous and spacious, and the location on a quiet road was perfect. The house is a quick drive to the local grocery store which came in very handy since we cooked all of our meals. It's also conveniently located to area attractions. We spent a lot of time swimming at Hapgood Pond. In addition we enjoyed a visit to the local Taylor Farm, Lowell Lake, nearby Grafton (which has an amazing Nature museum for kids), and Weston (home of the Vermont Country Store.). The local school also has an amazing playground. Malcolm and Dana were always helpful and thoughtful which was a great plus too. We'd love to come back and would recommend this house to others!

Really very nice...

5 of 5
We stayed in the house for a week in June 2014.Everything was as described in the listing...It would of been nice to have the deck set up instead of us lugging everything out then back in, but I guess it added to the enjoyment. food, gas, worms, pharmacy,Etc. is about a 5 minute drive. The area the house is in is Very Nice, as is the house itself. Very dark at night, great to see the millions of stars in the night sky. Every utensil for your cooking enjoyment is there. Dishwasher. Cable and WiFi. 2 Bathrooms, 3 bedrooms.... There are So Many different things to do in a 50-60 mile radius, you can't do it all in a week !!! Try and avoid Taylor Farms, overpriced stale moldy goods. There are plenty of farmstands in the vicinity. The Saturday Farmers Market in "downtown" is a do not miss proposition. All in All, worth the money. Sleeps six comfortably.Close to all ski areas, fishing, horseback riding. The people in town were very friendly, not snobbish like some areas we've been to. I recommend it.Coming from me, that is a BIG endorsement.
