Vermont Beauty

5 of 5
This is a lovely home with all of the modern amenities you could ask for. Spacious deck with grill, huge master bedroom, updated kitchen, WIFI, and a beautiful sunset over the lake. The owner could not have been more accommodating and generous. Highly recommended! One small note: this home is located on the shallow end of the lake which is weedy and not conducive to swimming. There are kayaks but no dock or rowboat. This was made clear to us early on so no surprises. Great place to stay.

A Perfect Week

5 of 5
The cottage is very imposing as you drive up to it, and both floors have lake front windows. To sleep with the windows open, seeing the stars and the silhouette of the Vermont mountains....priceless! Both bedrooms have flat screen TVs and cable. The kitchen is exceptionally stocked, and there were 12 trays of ice cubes made so we were able to immediately enjoy the sangria we brought! We grilled in once, and otherwise enjoyed dining in Rutland, Poultney, Dorset, Castleton, and Manchester. The lake water was warm - we brought floats for our lazy days and I kayaked for the first time when we had more energy. The state park is visible across the lake from the deck, and a great place for swimming. All the deck furniture had covers, so we were never required to sit on wet cushions after a rain. The street is quiet and the neighbors are nice. This was a much nicer rental than one I had the prior year - I hope to be back. Thank you Linda and Keith.

Wonderful

4 of 5
Hi Jennifer, Just wanted to drop you a note to say we had a great time at your cabin. The view was wonderful. The lake water was so warm we stayed in it for hours at a time. I was amazed that there were absolutely no flies or mosquitos to be found, only dragonflies. By the end of the week, I could almost make it to the top of the deck stairs without huffing and puffing. Good exercise for us. We had dinner at “The Barn” which was really delicious and the Poultney pizza place that was really good. We rented bikes one day and had a nice long ride around town. It was very nice having the large LCD TV. We rented movies most nights via Redbox from Shaws market, a short ride into town. All in all, we really got to relax and play and the weather was awesome. Thanks, Sheryl from Schenectady, NY
