A Beautiful Week

5 of 5
Over the years my family and I have stayed in many Vermont lakeside rentals; this was one of the best. The large number of bedrooms made it possible to invite friends as well as family. We brought our own canoe but really didn't have to, because kayaks were provided. The boating was superb. The house has a nice level backyard that was perfect for wiffle ball and badminton. At night we enjoyed smores around a fire pit; there was an ample supply of wood. My two year old granddaughter had a great time feeding the ducks that swam up to the dock. The house has wi-fi and all the amenities you could ask for. The owner was extremely cooperative and accessible by phone and email. We hope our schedules will permit us to come back next summer.

What a week!!

My wife and I had been to the lake a few years ago and decided to make a stop in late spring to do some fishing. Are we glad we did. The fishing was incredible and the home on the lake made it just that much better. The house was perfect for the two of us and our two long hair Dachshunds, clean ,cozy and close to the water. We loved feeding the chipmunks from the porch and just sitting outside enjoying the view and a glass of wine. The gas fireplace was a real bonus as the weather was pretty cool for us southerners. The dogs loved it too, they explored, went in the water, and went fishing with us everyday. As to the fishing, except for it being a little cold and windy, our timing was perfect. The smallmouth were big and hungry, our best day we caught 40 to 50 and they probably averaged better than 2 lbs. Getting to bundle up in sweatshirts in June was a real pleasure. Our thanks to Karen and Clifford for making our stay just right. We will send you some pictures.
