Wedding From Heaven

5 of 5
We originally came across the Fielder Farm as a location for out-of-town family traveling to Vermont for our wedding to stay together while here. After visiting the farm, and meeting Sarah and Bert, we knew it was the perfect venue for our hometown wedding. Sarah and Bert went above and beyond any expectations we ever had as our hosts, and we felt so welcome and at home during our stay. Having everyone in one location, instead of multiple hotels or our home, was such a pleasure and took a lot of stress out of our wedding weekend. Our family was able to enjoy cooking meals together, walking the various trails, and fly-fishing in the pond. Two couple that traveled for our wedding had infants and we had a couple three year olds, too. It was wonderful to be able to offer everyone their own space during the stay, especially with the little ones. On the day of our wedding the weather decided not to cooperate, but that didn't hinder the overall mood. Our wedding guests were blown away by the beauty of the property anyway. I wish I could give a higher rating than "excellent", because I really can't describe how amazing our stay was. We really couldn't have chosen a more perfect venue for our celebration, and we already want to go back. The Most Satisfied Bride, Hannah P.

Awesome Family Getaway

5 of 5
Thank you Susan for sharing your wonderful island home! Our family of 7 adults and 2 teenagers enjoyed every aspect of this beautiful farmhouse, water front access, and lovely grounds. We have several great cooks and a chef in the family and the kitchen was totally equipped with everything we need for yummy meals. One of the favorite indoor spots for dining, games, and hanging out was the enclosed porch with amazing views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains. There was plenty of room for all of us to sleep, on real beds, and the bathroom situation was more than adequate for our group. We loved the waterfront and use of the kayaks as well as all the other toys and the outdoor fire pit. Some of us are big time cyclists so we brought our own bicycles and it was so nice to have a secure place to store them when we were not riding (great riding on the islands). Thanks again for making such a wonderful home available for vacationing families!

A wonderful week at the farmhouse!

5 of 5
We have been renting cottages with our children and grandchildren each summer for the past nine years. Our stay at the farmhouse was everyone's favorite. The farmhouse is roomy and well maintained and the yard is expansive, so that even with three generations in the same house we each had our privacy. The porch swing, tire swing and screened in porch got plenty of use! Though there is a lot to do in the area, we found ourselves spending most of our time on the island. We brought our bicycles and kayaks, so we biked and paddled daily. Though Lake Champlain is large it is relatively calm and there are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore. We also played badminton, horseshoes, pool, ping pong and board games. We swam on warm days and enjoyed a fire on the beach on more than one evening. The house was very well laid out and equipped. The mud/laundry room was handy as was the outdoor shower. The kitchen was easy to cook in and had a big refrigerator (no coolers needed) and lots of counter space. In short, the farmhouse had everything needed for a great vacation.
