              SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!

              5 of 5
The Island Farm was the perfect retreat for my extended family. When I started planning a summer vacation for our family I was challenged to find a place to stay that would have something for everyone….grandparents who prefer a place to relax out of the sun, 4 parents who wanted to be in the sun and be active and 6 (yes, six) kids between the ages of 9 and 14 with varied interests. When we found the listing for The Island Farm, we knew we had found a gem but did not even realize until we got there just how perfect it was for the twelve of us. The Farm was so much fun for young and old. The kids were up and out to see the animals and feed them at 6:30 in the morning. We would find them walking the baby goats on leashes, holding bunnies and running with the newborn miniature pony as if it were the family dog. They also found a litter of kittens and enjoyed helping the momma take good care of them. The lake with the dock was perfect for jumping, fishing and our favorite, watching the beautiful sunsets. The paddle boat, canoe and row boat all got a workout while we were there. We rode bikes, went on interesting walks and enjoyed cooking together in the well equipped kitchen. We loved being able to sit as a family to eat at the dining room table that accommodated all of us. We had family whiffle ball tournaments out on the back lawn, frozen drinks on the screened in porch, made s’mores at the fire pit and watched fireworks over the lake. We did not leave The Island Farm all week except to run out for groceries. There was plenty of bed space and it was so nice to be away and not have anyone sleeping on floors, couches or pull-outs. There are plenty of bathrooms and never a wait which is a great thing when you have twelve people staying under one roof. Debbie and Mike, the owners, were so gracious and made us feel very welcome. I enjoyed chatting with them everyday and they could not do enough to help us with anything we needed...from borrowing a frisbee to telling us about the local history. We can’t wait to go back!

GORGEOUS LOCATION, RIGHT ON THE WATER!

              5 of 5
We needed a destination for a multi-generational family gathering. Moreover, we wanted a place where our family in the Burlington area could join us for dinner and festivities. This home was the perfect fit and offered everything that we needed. We had plenty of room for 5 adults and 5 children overnight, and up to 20 dining in the beautiful enclosed porch, deck, and garden terrace. There is a lovely small black stone beach steps from the back deck down a small flight of stairs. Sea kayaks on the premises were perfect distractions for the kids and adults. Magnificent grill and fully equipped kitchen made meals easy. Fortunately, we had only one rainy day, but the home has air hockey, pool table, ping pong, jigsaw puzzles, dvd player, and plenty of space to hide away with a book. Everything you could ask for on an indoor day.

              SO BEAUTIFUL AND PACEFUL PLACE

              4 of 5
We needed a time for our family to get together away from the city life. We found this place and Jackie was so special that made this work; I am so thankfull that this really happened. I cannot describe and thank enough as the time we lived there was one of the best I will remember. All about the house, it farm look, the details in every room and specially the lake were fabulose. It as close as you want from other activities if that is what you want, but far enough from day to day life. I am looking forward for a next time there. It is a place where you cannot do anything but love it. Clean house, clean bathrooms, different layout, very family oriented.
