Lovely Lakehouse

5 of 5
We were very pleased with our stay at the house on the lake. The owner was very helpful and it was a comfortable, spacious home. We loved sitting out on the deck and looking at the lake. Grand Isle is so lovely and staying at the house made our trip very relaxing.

Great Rustic cottage on the Lake

5 of 5
We were returned to the cottage for our second consecutive year and had a wonderful experience on both occasions! We brought along two 10 year olds and our half crazy dog Yodi. We stayed in the larger cottage which has plenty of room for more. I believe it was built in the 1920's and has a great deal of character. Unlike one of the previous reviewers, we were not expecting, or desiring a stay at the Hilton. If you are, don't stay here, but if you would like you and your kids to be away from your cell phones, with days filled with fishing, sunsets and simplicity, by all means, stay here! The owner of the property, Bob, was very accommodating to our every need. In fact, the other cottage was vacant the week we were there, and we asked Bob if, perhaps we could rent it for a couple of nights as we had friends who were planning on a visit. He said to not worry about it, "Let them enjoy it"! A couple of days later some one called who wanted to rent the second cottage for the week. Bob approached us and asked us if it was ok. He was actually going to let us have the cabin for free rather than rent it for a fee. Now that's service. Of course we thanked Bob for his consideration, but told him to make some money during the short season. We never felt unsafe or uncomfortable, as the previous reviewer had, nor did we expect polished silver and room service! It bothers me that one who may expect this from a 1920's cabin would write such a caustic review without consideration of possible consequences to the owner. She may want to stay closer to home in New Jersey!

wonderful stay!

We had a great time staying at this spotless, comfy cottage directly on the water of beautiful Isle La Motte. Everything you need for vacation was there including fast internet, gas grill and fully equipped kitchen. We explored the island: long walks with our dogs, music and tea on the lawns of Fisk Farm, picnic table lunches of toasty paninis at South End cafe, and if you remember your passport, Canada is not far! Don't forget your cameras for the amazing sunsets. The owner was very friendly and helpful; we couldn't have asked for a nicer stay.
