Was 100% Perfect

5 of 5
We are a family of 4 from Boston that was looking to get away to a small charming Vermont town for a few days to unwind and enjoy the serenity this brings. This experience was 100% perfect. The house itself is very comfortable, large and accommodating with a nice back yard and picnic area right on a troutstream. The town is charming. With small kids, we wanted to be near amenities and this town had everything we needed. Great store a few doors down (We went there a few times a day just for fun...) Diner across the street and Library, playground and businesses nearby. Red Sky trading Co. in town was awesome. We went to a local talent show at the Town Function Hall and were treated like members of the community. Many other interesting towns nearby and proximity to Canada (We took a day trip to Magog via Newport) were also really fun. I look forward to returning

Perfect Retreat!

5 of 5
I booked this property as a surprise birthday party for my husband's 50th. We had 11 people staying (5 adults, 6 kids under 16) so needed a large home to accommodate everyone. I've booked on HomeAway quite a bit and this was one of the nicest properties we've stayed at. The listing is perfect, but the pictures don't do this home justice. Everything is super clean and designed and decorated with thought and care. The bedrooms and bathrooms are huge and plenty of room for larger groups without feeling claustrophobic. The home is well stocked with plenty of towels, kitchen gadgets and reading material. The owners are phenomenal and very responsive to all my incessant questions and pestering. They even had a nice gift and birthday card for my husband, which was unexpected and a pleasant surprise. The welcome binder is fantastic and answers any questions you may have. You will want to bring food with you as the closest major grocery store is about an 40 -50 minutes away. There are a couple of small convenience stores for dry goods and some frozen foods, all are reasonably priced. Definitely hit Brault's meat market - prices are phenomenal and the native steaks were superb. I would definitely and strongly recommend this property for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. The area is very remote, but welcoming for people who want to get away and enjoy nature. The skies at night are beautiful! The internet service is spotty, but to be expected due to the location. I can't say how much fun we had this weekend at this property. Plenty of room for the kids to run and play outside and a beautiful home for the adults to enjoy. It was absolute perfection and hope to return this winter to enjoy Jay Peak skiing.

Can I live here forever, pleaseeee

5 of 5
The house is absolutely to die for! The photos are great, but they don't hold a flame to seeing the house in person. There's so much space for entertaining. Great layout. Each bedroom is huge! The kitchen is a Martha Stewart's dream come true. It has modern, stainless steel appliances and a wine cooler! A wine cooler, people! We never lost hot water. There are two fireplaces and an abundance of firewood for us to use. There is also so much land around the house. You really get the true Vermont experience and the privacy you need. The lady across the street breeds Morgan horses (native to Vermont) and will gladly give you a tour of her barn if you ask her. The view from the house is absolutely breathtaking. You can even see Jay Peak and all the trails from the house! I highly recommend this place. Since I can't live here forever, I will definitely be returning.
