            Stylish and well equipped house!

            4 of 5
Beautifully decorated place in one of the prettiest Vermont villages. We truly enjoyed our stay and we're happy to report that everything worked and was up to standard. The house is well equipped and had plenty of heat and water, despite the cold weather we had. The driveway was plowed and access to house was good. Also, the wifi, tv and music system all worked and the living room fireplace was nice. Didn't try the one in the tv room... All and all a pleasant stay, would do it again!

Perfectly located, lovely home for weekend getaway

            5 of 5
I came up here with my boyfriend for the weekend and we had a wonderful time. The house is 15 minutes away from Grafton Ponds Recreation Center where there is affordable cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and sleigh rides in a beautiful setting. 15 minutes in the other direction is Chester, where we had a great brunch at the Country Girl Diner and were able to pick up groceries at Lisai's Market to cook dinner. The house has every kitchen tool you'd need. We loved that the door on the wood stove opens so that you can watch the fire roar. Another highlight was walking on the property around the house - there are great pathways made smooth by snowmobiles for easy walking in the snow. Thank you Katharine for such a great time!

Days gone by with all the modern touches

            5 of 5
We rented the barn studio for a birthday weekend. We have been coming to Grafton for years and always stayed at the Old Tavern, now The Grafton Inn but wanted a different experience. The location is perfect for a quiet weekend. The barn adjoins the main house which is also a rental. For two people wanting a romantic get way, use the barn. It is just out of the center of Grafton, within a short walking distance to everything you need. The road is little traveled, so road noise is not a factor. Renovations of the barn are well done. There appears to be no corner cutting with the redo. You have the feeling you are in a barn but with all the modern amenities. Upon arrival you are supplied with fresh eggs and milk, nice touch. For the evening pick up cheese and wine locally and enjoy the fire. If you wanted to be connected, wi-fi is there, but you can also escape with the surroundings to days gone by. Grafton is a restored town brought back many years ago by the Windham Foundation and private homeowners. It is a a postcard town. The process to rent was simple, security returned in a timely manner.
