            Peaceful and Relaxing Getaway

            5 of 5
The photos really do not do this place justice - it is an incredibly peaceful getaway hidden in the woods overlooking a gorgeous pond. Plans for multiple hikes were easily abandoned in favor of simply sitting on the deck with a mug of coffee (or beer in the afternoon) in one hand and a book in the other. The lack of electricity was a huge plus - since cell service is present but spotty, you must actually turn off your phone to prevent the battery from draining. How wonderful not to have each moment interrupted with emails, texts, calls, or alerts. The moon was nearly full during our stay and it was so cool to watch it rise over the woods behind the cabin, illuminating the trees and bank across the pond. As others have noted, the nearby general stores have the basics, and if you need more, the larger towns are within an easy half hour's drive. We did make it up to Jay Peak for one hike - wonderful views of the Vermont countryside. Ed was a pleasure to work with. We look forward to visiting again in the future!

            Outstanding in every way!!

            5 of 5
We had the pleasure of staying here for two weeks with our two children and dog, and we felt welcomed and truly enjoyed our stay. This is the quintessential Vermont experience; gorgeous property with a pond, fishing and activities close by and wonderful hosts who took care of us and helped to inform us about activities in the area as well. The King size beds in each of the three bedrooms are incredibly comfortable, and the house is well stocked with everything one would need and the Wifi access is quick and reliable. Close to Stowe and Jay Peak, the location was nice and quiet on a dirt road, yet accessible to the different places we wanted to see. Be sure to take time to get to know the goats, and "Drifter", the owners' dog who is friendly and very welcoming. We truly could not have asked for more, and we will definitely be back in the future!!
