Just returned from week-long stay in late March 2015. Mom, dad and 5 teens had a great trip – packed full of fun events. The kids were happy to stay around the house for hiking in the snowy trails or playing pool & ping pong. The house is large, spacious and has everything you could possibly need. The kitchen was perfect for fun dinner preparation where everyone helped out with 2 big dinners - feasted in the fireplace room with a fire going! The large windows in every room let beautiful views in - my daughters slept under the big round window and could see the incredible stars at night! Owner Dan gave us lots of good advice on what to see & do nearby. The nearby towns of Waterbridge, Woodstock & Quechee are quaint and friendly. Vermont is incredibly beautiful – the whole state is mountainous with few people and no traffic. It snowed our 1st ski day, then we had blue skies for the rest of the trip. Conditions were on the cold side (coldest morning was 9 degrees!), but we were prepared and it didn’t bother us. We hiked thru snowy woods Tuesday to a frozen waterfall then later visted the Long Trail Brewery to see the bottling line in operation. We all danced together to live music at Ramunto's, a rustic & cozy pizza restaurant. We hiked the Quechee Gorge (Vermont’s “Grand Canyon”) and had 3 terrific ski days on slopes we had all to ourselves at Suicide Six then Pico Mountain! Sunday was closing day at Suicide Six with end-of-season festivities and a free cookout for all the skiers! We toured Sugarbush Farm, a cheese/maple syrup farm (lots of free samples), we saw wild turkeys and deer, and my daughter got chased by a big friendly pig! The kids made cookies and stayed up late every night playing pool & laughing & eating ice cream & having "cookie parties".
