Lovely and relaxing

5 of 5
This cottage and the setting are even lovelier than the photos show. The cottage has been completely updated, has everything you might need and is furnished nicely. It was great to have a screened porch to read or eat if it was rainy or buggy out. The spot on the lake is near the end of the road so it was very quiet and beautiful with the mountains in the background - we saw a loon family, bald eagles, kingfishers, lots of ducks and fish jumping. We wish we had some kayaks to explore the lake as the paddleboat was slow and pretty noisy - next time we will try to bring some. There is some growth of lillypads that it would be nice to clean out around parts of the lake, but other than that out stay was perfect.

Relaxing and Quaint, A Perfect Getaway

5 of 5
The schoolhouse was away from it all and relaxing as it was conveniently close to day trips in both Vermont and New Hampshire. It was hard to leave after a week here! We would stay again for sure. Thank you for the great customer service and a property as described.

Who could ask for anything more?

5 of 5
This rental far exceeded our expectation. The home was immaculate and well supplied and the furnishings and decorations were perfect for a vacation home. Aside from the great lake and land view from our kitchen table and outside deck, the skylights inside allowed lots more light to brighten an already cheerful living area. The friendly owners live nearby and they are always ready to provide help or answer any questions. We love to fish and planned on using the rowboat available at no cost along with our electric motor. We, however, decided to rent the pontoon boat (what a great rate for the week!) and it was absolutely a senior's dream to use as a fishing boat. We caught white perch, chain pickerel and bass. A short walk on Shadow Lake Road took us to amazing meadows filled with Lupus! Blue, pink and white stalks were in full bloom. We also enjoyed the quiet surroundings and actually went into town twice to the local diner for a bit of conversation and an abundance of tasty food. Next year we are considering a rental in both spring and fall. The foliage might be more beautiful than the Lupus! We definitely recommend this place.
