My friends and I just finished a four day weekend at the cabin. Here are some of the highlights:
Location - we were nervous about not staying in downtown Burlington but the location here served our needs perfectly. The backyard goes right on the lake and the views from the screened in patio are amazing (and much better than Burlington). Safe for swimming (if the water isn't too cold, that is). Also, there are two great bike paths (one on to the lake - see: Colchester Causeway) and another one right into Burlington along a scenic nature-filled route). And the place comes with four fully functioning bikes and helmets and a great ping pong table as well. The town has a general store, some cute little restaurants and a big supermarket. So all the basics. Burlington was about a 15-20 minute drive and we even took a taxi in to town on Saturday night for about $25/each way.
House - the house was really nice and on a quiet little street. Kitchen and bathroom were simple but clean and comfortable and fully functioning with no issues whatsoever. The highlight of the house is definitely the screened in patio. It was a bit cold in Mid-October but I can imagine how much fun it would be to have breakfast in the morning or a drink in the evening and just enjoy the amazing views on to the lake in the late spring and summertime.
Owner - John is a great Host! He was very responsive to any questions I had about the rental beforehand and even quickly responded to a couple of small questions while we were there. He stopped by to make sure we were all settled in as well. Just the right amount of interaction to not feel bothered but to know that if we needed anything he was there to help.
All in all a great place.
