Recent Central Vermont / Sugarbush / Mad River Valley Reviews

very nice condo for family ski getaway

5 of 5
We just spent 6 enjoyable nights at this condo. We are a family of 4 with a dog that was also welcome. Everything was clean and as described, though we were disappointed that there is no real oven in the kitchen - only a convection microwave which forced us to modify some cooking plans. Other than that, the place was great. We love the area and know it well. Battleground is a nice complex, close to skiing at Mad River and Sugarbush and all the amenities of the area. Owners were very pleasant and easy to work with and we would definitely recommend it to others and consider renting again.

Perfectly Peaceful

5 of 5
If you're anthing like us, every now and then you need to escape your crazy schedule and recharge your batteries - this is the perfect place for that. My husband and I had a very relaxing weekend. On the way up to the cabin it was snowing and we were quite happy that we had thought ahead and brought ingredients for dinner as it was the perfect night to stay in by the fire. The kitchen is set up well and easy to cook in. The hot tub was perfect and sitting in it while the snow was falling was absolutely the best. Everything in the cabin is well thought out and it is extremely comfortable. We loved relaxing in the window seat. Everything is conveniently labeled, making electronics and appliances easy to operate. The binder full of local activity and restaurant suggestions is a nice touch. The owner is easy to deal with, prompt with instructions about the property - very professional. The area is wonderfully scenic and we did venture out for a nice drive to Montpelier where we had delicious crepes at the Skinny Pancake. Also stopped in the Elusive Moose in nearby Waitsfield. The food was great and the people were extremely friendly. All in all, this cabin is the perfect retreat if you are looking for a relaxing get away. It proved impossible to feel any stress at all while sitting in the hot tub and looking out at the beautiful scenery!

GREAT COUNTRY SETTING

5 of 5
The Caleb Atwell House is a wonderful retreat from the busy world. It is complete with natural beauty, a private pond and expansive lawns, all supported by views of the wild unspoiled hills and mountains of Vermont. This lovely rural home is clean and well maintained. The beautiful antique wide floor boards, beamed ceilings and wonderful decor create a home with lots of character. All beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was nicely stocked with any utensils, place settings, pots or pans you would ever need to prepare a meal. Off the beaten path yet very accessible, the home has nearby hiking and scenery to gaze at. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing here We definitely look to return to this house again when we visit Vermont!
