What a quaint Vermont spot! We loved it.
This is what a vacation should be. It's clear the owners have taken great care to renovate their sweet farmhouse. Contained all the amenities needed for a relaxing, carefree stay. Our goal was to teach the kids how to ski - we had 3 excellent days at Ascutney. Loved the children's clinics - even though it was Christmas vacation week, there were no crowds, they received loads of attention, and had a ball on the slopes. An easy 15 minute ride door to door.
We also conquered the sledding hill just across the street (hope the neighbors did not mind!) and thoroughly enjoyed the skating pond directly in our backyard. Left Reading feeling as though our family had stepped out of a Norman Rockwell review!
The owner's assessment was very clear. This IS a farmhouse. Not alot of glitz and glamour - downtown Reading can be missed in the blink of an eye. Just grab your slippers for the cool mornings on the hardwoods and prepare to simply relax and enjoy family dinners and game nights in the HUGE kitchen following the day's adventures!
