You could find other cabins this spacious, clean, and tastefully appointed, and you could find others with the same plum location, but you’d be hard pressed to find another property which so pleasingly combines all those attributes.
For starters, the cabin itself: Three bedrooms and three full baths, each on a separate level for maximum privacy. Even with all bedrooms occupied, you won’t feel stacked on top of anyone here. The main common area includes a fully-equipped kitchen with breakfast bar fronting on a lofty vaulted living/dining area flooded with natural light. A smaller common area downstairs is a great place for kids to hang out and have their own territory. An enormous wrap-around deck provides ample space for enjoying the woodsy ambiance when the weather’s warm, and there’s a wood stove in the main living area for those cool mountain nights. Artwork is everywhere, impeccably selected, and includes original photography. A vast selection of television and satellite radio awaits those wanting that window to the outside world. Ample printed tourist information and guides are provided for folks wishing to get out and about. Toss in a full laundry, a firepit, and quick access to the restaurants and stores of Duck Creek Village, and you’ve got a marvelous space to serve as a cozy retreat, a base for exploring the surrounding natural wonderland, or a little of both.
And then there’s the location. . . perched atop the lofty Markagunt Plateau (known locally as Cedar Mountain), Duck Creek Village lies only minutes away from myriad hiking and fishing opportunities on the Dixie National Forest, not to mention the dramatic Technicolor escarpment of Cedar Breaks National Monument and skiing at Brian Head. Just a bit farther afield, Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks offer some of the most spectacular scenery on the planet, and the world-renowned North Rim of the Grand Canyon is an easy day trip from the village. Nearby Cedar City hosts the Utah Shakespeare Festival on the campus of Southern Utah University; Cedar City and smaller nearby towns offer basic services as well as charming locally-owned shops and hidden-gem eateries.
Top it all off with friendly and conscientious owners, and you’ve got a truly amazing vacation-rental property. We couldn’t recommend it more highly.
