We stayed here for a couple of weeks this summer and had such a great time. The home is just a couple miles out of town up on the hills of the red cliffs. It was so nice to be able to head to Zion and Lake Powell for the day and come back to the comfort of home base at night.
If you stay here in the hotter months make sure to keep the cooler on upstairs and the windows open in the basement or main floor bedroom. It will stay cool enough but needs the air flow for the cooler to work well.
The kids enjoyed sleeping in the loft. The listing says this home accomodates 9 but can fit more if you have kids. The kids also enjoyed the big jetted tub to scrub up after a day of 4 wheeling or horseback riding. We also enjoyed hiking up the red cliffs and rock hunting. Most evenings were spent having dinner on the large deck overlooking miles and miles of amazing views. The house is situated so that the large overhang provides shade early in the afternoons and is enjoyable even on the hottest days. We liked the fun waterfall and goldfish pond under the front porch. The kitchen was comfortable and easy to work in. We usually had breakfast at the bar and didn't use the dinig room table much. There are stairs up to the main floor on both directions. We also appreciated the crib in the bedroom in the basement that made a nice, dark place for the little one to sleep. Kanab is such a great little town with a small town feel with all the needed conveniences. We enjoyed two parades and fun comminty events at the park downtown. We can't wait to stay here again next year and explore more of this beautiful area of the world. With a family with 6 kids, we don't fit in a regula sized hotel room. It is pretty amazing that for about the same price as a suite in a hotel I can stay in a beautiful home like this. What a GREAT deal!
