Going to the Mountains

5 of 5
We ski so we can enjoy being in the mountains and this cabin delivers. So close to Salt Lake City yet a world away. Stayed 4 nights. We drove to the base of Brighton Ski area as it is a bit too far to walk. Took a risk and got a front wheel drive car but I would heed everyone's advice and get a 4 wheel drive next time, and book early as they sell out quickly in SLC, and then get pretty expensive as well. Mark is very easy to work with. The kitchen was very generously stocked. The place is clean and warm (although the forced air heat is a bit loud when sitting close to it, maybe a different blower would help?). The interior is cozy, cabin style (although the buffalo head over the fire place is an acquired taste), the kitchen up to date and large. Brighton is not the most famous Utah ski area but one of our favorites, plus access to Solitude is a short drive, and more ski areas a bit further. The cabin is located on a very quite, snowy street, under tall pines, and pieces of starry skies.

Awesome place and awesome owner

5 of 5
At first glance, the outside of the cabin looked well kept and clean and I can say the same about the inside. The place had plenty of room and having two bathrooms was nice. It did get cold since we went there in May BUT the owner provided us with plenty of heaters to use. The kitchen was well equipped and the barbecue grill worked perfectly. When we left, I forgot my favorite running shoes and the owner gladly sent them back to me. My friends and I would definitely try to go back to the cabin again, it was an awesome experience. PS. The television was not high tech and it came with a VHS player, I actually enjoyed using the machine. Watching VHS movies brought back many great memories of my childhood. It made the place feel more cozy and homey.

great value, nice home.

4 of 5
very nice home: pro's: beautiful kitchen that was well equipped. beautiful front and back decks. Great location between Bryce and Zion parks. nice tv/sound system. cons: not a place for people not able to climb stairs, 2 flights to get into the house and 2 flights to get from the main floor to the upstairs where all the bedrooms are. light switch's confusing. upstairs bedrooms hard to keep cool, even with ceiling fans. fan switchs confusing, some not working and in the case of the master bedroom, wall switch doesnt work for fan, had to stand on the bed to reach the small ceiling fan switch. recent gravel that was put down on driveway is too loose, making for slippery drive up a steep driveway and is allready wash boarding. need a sign at the turn into the property with the house number, as the turn doesnt look like a road leading to a home as the house is not visible from the turn. overall a very good stay, just some thoughts to make it an even better stay.
