Cool Cabin

5 of 5
It was a really cool cabin at this time of year. But, it has a wonderful pellet stove and a great fireplace that kept the cabin nice and warm until night time when the fireplace cooled and the pellet stove kept it just right for cool sleeping with it freezing outside. There is plenty of wood and pellets to keep things as warm as you would like. The heat never did have to come on. The cabin is stocked with all the utensils, pans, bowls, and dishes that were needed. The stove is great and the fridge is large. There are plenty of beds, linen, and towels. We brought our clothes and personal items and it was home for three days. The mattress in the master was the best bed that we have slept on away from home. They were three great nights. We had 4 vehicles and a flat bed trailer with a Razor. We had plenty of room for parking. The cabin was clean and ready for us when we arrived and was easy to keep clean while we were there. The only down side to our stay was that we were about 2 weeks late for all of the fall colors. We were at the tail end. We will have to go earlier next year.

Terriffic vacation-superb location for a home base

5 of 5
The cabin & property were exactly as described. Beautifully appointed, spacious and very well equipped, it was a wonderful respite from our daily sightseeing tours. We enjoyed the nightly tour of deer walking through the property. The only complaint we could come up with is that the coffee maker needed cleaning in the worst way, our first pot of coffee took 45 minutes to brew. Fortunately there was white vinegar on hand and the next pot took 12 minutes. The only reason I mention this it to make the point that in all seriousness, that is literally the only thing we could find wrong! So on a scale of one to ten, this rental was a 10! We would highly recommend it and if we ever find our way back to southern Utah, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. By the way, if you aren't sure about southern Utah, take the plunge. We were stunned by the beauty of Bryce, Zion & Capitol Reef and we were so happy we made this our vacation destination. There is no picture you can look at that will adequately portray the beauty of these national treasures.

Where the deer and the antelope play....

5 of 5
With the turkeys, bighorn sheep and also the wild birds, chipmunks and other mountain critters. We all had a fun adventure including our fur kids. The cabin was absolutely darling with Jim and Jan’s personal touch. The location was perfect for day trips to the parks and other outings. The fall colors were spectacular, I mean stunning! We want to thank the Mc Daniels for being pet friendly (with consideration) as our boxers are part of our family and they just had the greatest time. The most special was when the antelope were grazing in strawberry valley. They would look at them, then us, then them and say “what the heck is that thing?” City dogs! We highly recommend staying as it was a truly exceptional and comfortable but most of all Jan’s personal and professional commitment to making your stay pleasurable. Will be back! Ron and Norma with Taz and Daisy!
